00:00Let's jump into the other four races and help the folks out,
00:03see if we can lead them into a winner
00:06for this pick five ticket.
00:07So race number eight is an overnight handicap.
00:09It's called the Travista,
00:11and they have such great purses over at Oaklawn Park,
00:14145,000 up for grabs in this one.
00:17Mile into 16th, we've got Phillies and Mayors,
00:20and you and I, we're kind of looking at
00:22a couple of similar horses in here.
00:23Why don't you start us off?
00:24Who are the horses that we want to use in this first leg
00:27of the five team kind of parlay that we're playing?
00:30This is a pick five.
00:31Yes, well, before I try to pronounce this horse's name,
00:34I want to congratulate Gino,
00:35who crushed, crushed a pick five last week.
00:40Coast to coast pick five, another one he does often,
00:43and just absolutely crushed it.
00:44So good work on that.
00:46And as we get into it, I will say,
00:48the luck for me over the last couple of years,
00:50I was having a lot of close misses,
00:51but it all changed in November
00:53when we had the winner on this show
00:55that we gave out for about $5,000.
00:57And then it started to change for me.
00:59A lot of those horses that were running second now
01:01have gotten the job done.
01:02So let's see if we can keep that good energy,
01:05the good juju, and roll it right on over to this week.
01:08Set us up for race number eight.
01:11All right, with Bruna Boin,
01:13I think this might be how you pronounce
01:15that horse's name, number two.
01:17Time for me has her getting second place behind the five,
01:20which is going to be our other selection here.
01:22But you know, she's a tracker that can kind of sit off
01:24pace and grind them down.
01:25Her early and late pace ratings are the same,
01:27which shows you how she's like a really consistent
01:30runner throughout the race.
01:32Her race back in October where she won at Keeneland
01:35is what I want to see from her this weekend.
01:36I think if she runs that on Sunday, I think she can win.
01:39And if you're looking at the charts below,
01:41you can see the chicklets.
01:43The number five is towards the front,
01:45and then the number five is finishing towards the front.
01:47That's the other horse that we're going to be using here,
01:49and that's Payne, who's just like a solid on paper,
01:53coming out of some strong races,
01:55shows speed and can sit just off.
01:57And the jockey, Flavian Pratt, he in particular
02:00is so good with horses that are like this,
02:02where he has to make a decision.
02:03Do I want to be really aggressive
02:05or maybe sit off a little bit?
02:06It seems like he always makes the right call
02:08on when to go, when to sit.
02:10So we're in very capable hands there, Alexa.
02:13As we move to race number nine, this is the honeybee.
02:16This is one of the races where we had, I guess,
02:18a slight difference of opinion.
02:19And this is what happens when you have two people
02:22building a ticket together.
02:23I know the horse to beat is the one, Mujima.
02:26I'm going to try to take some swings against her
02:28on my own ticket, but you know what?
02:30If she wins, I'm going to be alive on this ticket with you,
02:33right, because we're using her here, because you like her.
02:36I do like Mujima.
02:37You know, like you said, heavy morning line favorite,
02:39rightfully so.
02:40This filly's undefeated in three starts,
02:42each time with added distance and improving speed figures.
02:45The most recent one was the grade two Demoiselle
02:47at Aqueduct in December.
02:49So, you know, she's fresh,
02:50and trainer Brad Cox is great at bringing them back
02:53off a layoff with a 24% win rate.
02:55He wins 29% of the time in graded stakes races.
02:58I think Mujima's definitely the one to beat,
03:01but you're not getting great odds.
03:02We'll also use the six, take charge my lady,
03:05who's four and a half to one,
03:06is on a winning streak at Oak Lawn
03:08with two wins this year already over the course.
03:11That last out was in a stakes race
03:12where she won by over five lengths
03:13with an impressive speed figure.
03:15So to be fair, there were only five horses
03:17in the field that day, but still dueled
03:19and passed horses for a driving win.
03:21Other horses that we have on the ticket,
03:23two Necessity, a really interesting long shot.
03:27Both the two and the three are 20 to one
03:28on the morning line.
03:29We have them both on our ticket
03:31because they've both shown really nice progression.
03:34And I'm very interested in the type of trip
03:36they could sit in this race,
03:37where they won't be right on the lead,
03:39but they should be in that next tier,
03:41right behind the leaders,
03:42and maybe getting the jump on some of the deeper closers.
03:45So I think the race could really set up very well for them.
03:48The two Necessity, the three Jenkin,
03:50and then towards the outside, I think is a wild card,
03:535G, hopefully we're cashing this ticket for 5Gs, Alexa.
03:57This one was really impressive,
03:59going a mile on the dirt last time out.
04:01So we'll spread out in that race,
04:03a race that a lot of people might just single in on Muhima.
04:06We'll be looking for a price
04:07and looking for a little bit of value.
04:09As we move to race number 10, this is the Razorback.
04:12This is a race for some of the older horses.
04:14So maybe some familiar names,
04:16some horses who you may have seen or heard
04:18over the last couple of years in big graded stakes races.
04:21Start us off here, Alexa,
04:23who are we gonna be using on the ticket?
04:25Yeah, First Mission is one of those at 5-1 odds.
04:27Taking a bit of a step back, maybe in a grade three,
04:30spent most of last year running in grade one
04:32and grade two races.
04:33Most exciting and impressive race to date
04:35was when we won the grade two Alishiva at Churchill last May
04:38on the Oaks undercard, but has been off since August,
04:41but has multiple bullet workouts in preparation for today
04:45and Trina Bragg Cox wins 37% of the time
04:49when his horses are coming back
04:50after an over six month layoff.
04:52So he really knows how to have them tightened up
04:55and ready to perform after their breaks.
04:57And we'll also use the eight baddest good boy.
05:01Love that name.
05:02At four and a half to one,
05:03the most lightly raced horse in the field
05:05with only two starts.
05:07A late bloomer who really didn't begin his career
05:09until the last week of his three-year-old year
05:11this past December, but he really came out firing.
05:15Not undefeated at two starts
05:17with seriously fast speed figures.
05:19He's got early speed and should also be able
05:22to stock the pace a little bit and grind them down.
05:24Kind of sounds like what they would call a horse
05:26for like a nickname at the barn, right?
05:27He's the baddest good boy out there in the morning.
05:30He's just a bad good boy.
05:32He's a major player in there.
05:33The one that's a price that we're also gonna throw in
05:36is the six full screen.
05:37What I like about him, he's the type of horse,
05:39he's a little inconsistent, but his ceiling is really high.
05:42So that's why he's gonna offer you value.
05:44He can jump up and be capable of a very, very big effort.
05:49Full screen is in the mix.
05:50We'll go three, six, and eight.
05:52And then why don't you recap who we're going to be using
05:55in the Rebel, which is race number 11.
05:57Yep, we'll use the one Cole Battle,
05:59that likely overlooked long shot.
06:02Sandman, the closer, the I love,
06:04and Speed King, the speedster who may wire the field.
06:07So three deep there, one, three, and 11.
06:09Hopefully we're four for four,
06:10moving to race number 12 at Oak Lawn.
06:13This is an Arkansas bred, made in special way race.
06:15We're just gonna go too deep in here
06:17to try to close things out, right, Alexa?
06:19Yep, we'll use the two.
06:20Mayer at four to one is a first time starter
06:22for trainer Ron Maquette,
06:23who's been training really well at Oak Lawn
06:25with some fast workouts.
06:26Yeah, you get a live jockey, Flavian Pratt,
06:28to jump aboard.
06:29And then the nine, Tiz Marcus.
06:31His debut race was really good.
06:33He finished third,
06:34and I think he can build off of that race.
06:36So two and nine to close things out.
06:39We can take a look at the pick five ticket.
06:41I believe it's a $90 play altogether.
06:43We don't have any singles in the sequence,
06:45and where we might be a little different
06:47than I think the betting public is in race number nine,
06:50where a lot of people might just single the one.
06:53We have opportunities for prices,
06:54and sometimes you wanna zig
06:56when everybody else wants to zag.
06:58Any final thoughts on the ticket before we go to break?
07:00No final thoughts.
