00:00Uh, one note TNT has picked up the Miami heat hosting the golden state
00:06warriors in March for Jimmy Butler's return.
00:13Uh, man, it should be interesting.
00:16What do you think the reaction will be?
00:17Booze?
00:18Yes, really.
00:20And it's not, it's not booze that he's with golden state.
00:26I believe, and I will always believe this, that he did his team dirty.
00:35Yes.
00:36Because if he would have acted this way from the beginning of the
00:41season, it would have been handled sooner.
00:45But the fact that he came out and said, I'm just going to ball and Pat
00:53Riley and Spo and the organization thought that, okay, we're past this
01:00extension thing, but do you think, let me ask you this, do you think that
01:05the heat, whatever, I mean, you know, we're not, there's not gonna be much
01:08season left by the time we get to March 25th, you know, we're going
01:11to be nearing playoff time.
01:14Do you think at that point, um, the heat are going to want to put as much
01:19cold water on animosity as there is, like he wants to, he will want to, but
01:24he could ask me if he was going to get booed, but I'm asking like when, when
01:29LeBron made his return, right?
01:31Like Pat Riley was really pissed about that.
01:33I mean, it's, it's, it's very, it's very not like the difference.
01:35I think, but for different reasons, Pat was pissed off because he was blindsided
01:40because he thought LeBron would be here.
01:43Yes.
01:44But that's the thing that's interesting about this.
01:46Like, yeah, obviously Jimmy Butler's exit was much more toxic
01:50and volatile than LeBron's was.
01:52But in a way the heat we're in a position where they were ready
01:57to move on from Jimmy Butler.
02:00Like it, it definitely didn't go on the terms that they wanted.
02:02Like Jimmy Butler did everything he could to make it happen as soon as possible,
02:07but the heat made it known last year.
02:10They were tired of Jimmy missing games.
02:12They let it known last year.
02:13They didn't want to extend him.
02:15So in a way you're, you're, you're getting to a point here where it's like, yeah,
02:20he's gone, he exited bad, but that's kind of what you wanted in the end.
02:25Anyway, you didn't want Jimmy Butler anymore.
02:27So here's, here's the deal.
02:30If Jimmy had not said what he said to start the season about just being a
02:38Hooper and going out and hoop and not worrying about, and he had started.
02:44This sooner, this would have been done before the season started.
02:53You, you understand what I'm saying?
02:54I don't know.
02:55The fact that you think if he would have made a stink, if you think if he would
02:59have made a stink in camp, you think that would have led to a trade?
03:01You've just been honest and say, if they're not going to extend me, I don't
03:05want to be here, it would have been dealt with sooner, maybe.
03:09I mean, I don't know that all these games were being, you know,
03:13played both on and off the court.
03:17The only person who didn't express how they truly felt till later on
03:24in the season was Jimmy, that he made it clear, everybody made it clear that
03:31he wasn't getting an extension a while ago, said that then he wouldn't have
03:36started the season with the, everybody would have moved on and the fans would
03:42have felt differently about Jimmy Butler coming back to play if they want to
03:47trade him in the off season, it's possible.
03:49Like they really, really had depressed it, but if the heat, but here's the
03:52thing, if he did, let's say it was expressed, well, then can you trade me?
03:55And the heat said, no, like they wouldn't have said, you don't know that Leroy.
04:01I don't, I don't know that I don't, but here's what we have.
04:07If Jimmy demands a trade and you don't trade him, we have history of his behavior.
04:14Right?
04:16So, but that's on the heat for not, but the problem is, is the fact that Jimmy
04:22Butler said what he said when the season started, they, he didn't take any of
04:29that into account because they were listening to Jimmy, we were all listening
04:33to Jim and we were all like, Jim is going to ball out now.
04:37Cause he wanted to get some money, but spinning it forward.
04:39Cause like we've, we've done this back and forth now that we're here.
04:43Like, do you think that the heat, do you think they give them like the
04:46tribute video, the whole nines of a return just to make it look classy?
04:52Cause they did that with LeBron, even though back in the background of the
04:55organization, they were mad at LeBron and probably more mad at him for his exit,
05:00just because they were hurt by it more.
05:02Right.
05:03So that would Jimmy, they were ready for Jimmy's era to end.
05:05Even if it ended uglier.
05:07Um, do you think that that when it comes March 20th, like they do the whole.
05:12Red carpet thing.
05:14Thanks for the memories.
05:15Cause I feel like that's the way they're going to go.
05:17That's usually what the heat do.
05:18They take the high road, but I would ask, I would say this.
05:24LeBron left as a free agent and whether you like it or not, that was his option.
05:32You, you could have hated the way he did it.
05:34You could have hated it.
05:35Could have blindsided you.
05:37It could have pissed everybody off, but he left as a free agent.
05:42That was his right.
05:44What Jimmy did is totally different.
05:47We haven't had a situation that played out like this, where somebody went out of their
05:57way to sabotage what the heat we're trying to do.
06:01Yeah.
06:02And I'm wondering if that throughout the organization will require more time.
06:10It might.
06:11I mean, like, you know, especially, look, they gave the, uh, they gave the, uh,
06:15especially look, they gave the, uh, they gave Wiggins his, they gave Wiggins his number right
06:19away.
06:20And we do have all the, we do have the, we do have the dirty laundry aired about the,
06:26you know, them leaking about Pat Riley crying in the meeting.
06:29Um, so maybe not, I don't know.
06:32I don't know, but it feels, you know, Jimmy, obviously when he did his interview recently,
06:36we played the clips earlier this week.
06:37Like he publicly took the high road, even though his camp leaked a lot of stuff to try
06:42and make Pat and the, and the organization look bad.
06:45Um, but that's how you move on.
06:47Whether you believe it or not, you take the high road.
06:49Right.
06:50So I'm asking, I'm asking, did he do that?
06:53That's a little more than the high road.
06:56Tribute videos too much.
06:58Here's what I would say.
07:01I'm looking, I'm trying to look at it from Pat Riley and Mickey Aaronson's point of view
07:07that tree tribute video this soon would be the equivalent to commending somebody for
07:18doing what they did to the franchise and how they went about it.
07:22Yeah.
07:23But then it's over.
07:24Like it's 90 seconds of a montage and then it's like, it's, it's done.
07:27So dude, like there's here, there's Pat Riley and there's you on the petty.
07:36Scale, right?
07:39Like they're just, I think it, and the difference with LeBron was he brought you two championships.
07:50Of course.
07:51I understand.
07:52So even if you didn't like the way he left the reward of having, but, but it hurt a lot.
08:00Like the difference is more because he hurt more.
08:02It's still, it caused a, a friction between Pat and Dwayne that was still lingering in the
08:09background and they still did right by him.
08:11I'm not, I agree.
08:13I've said, look, look, LeBron left, even though I was more mad at that than I am with the gym.
08:19That catches me.
08:20That, that surprises me with you that upset than a guy leaving free agency, then a guy
08:26saboteur in the whole organization with his antics.
08:32You go back to Dan Gilbert.
08:34He having secret meetings at the rusty Pelican behind Pat Riley's back two championships,
08:40four straight finals runs.
08:42You're playing with, with booby Gibson and Mo Williams and Pat Riley's here.
08:47He got your Shabazz Napier out of nowhere, even though he stunk, he got who you wanted
08:53and all of a sudden you got your tribute.
08:58Good for you.
08:59I listen, he Lifer said it perfectly.
09:04Give him a 92nd video of all the games he missed
09:11show, show him at the tennis matches drinking.
09:16Right.
09:18Just a 92nd video of him hobnobbing.
09:21Right.
09:21So like, I would say, I would say we're comparing this to LeBron
09:31could have had Pau Gasol, by the way, LeBron power was ready to come.
09:36And he was coming on the cheap skis.
09:42I would Dan Gilbert.
09:44I would just say that to, to compare a guy who left as a free agent to what Jimmy Butler did
09:57is like, yeah, that's two different things.
09:59Like this guy went out of his way to make everybody in the organization as miserable
10:05as possible, maybe to the point where you had to suspend them and find maybe you just
10:10have Goran come to, to, to half court and just be like, disappointed in you, but not a ball ball up.
10:21That's again, I'm, I'm not upset about Jimmy wanting out.
10:29I'm upset about the things he said before the season started
10:32that kind of put everybody eased everybody's mind only to do the same things.
10:39Right.
10:39That's the part that I've always talked about that threw me off.
10:43And I think that's what probably caught a lot of people off guard with,
10:52with an organization is that, oh, he's doing this with LeBron.
10:59It's kind of arrogance on the part of the organization to think that a free agent
11:08can't leave it is, but it's kind of like, that's the thing.
11:12And, and that I do think that he get that their arrogance, uh, I think arrogance and
11:17humorous from the organization is, is, has definitely been, uh, catching up with them
11:21in spots for sure.
11:22Because I think there's parts of them that thought, oh, D Wade, he'll never leave.
11:27Oh, there's, there's, there's parts where you're like, there's no way LeBron will ever go back.
11:32Like in the time, like, I know it seems ridiculous now to everybody, but at the time,
11:37like, dude, what he did to Dan Gilbert or what Dan Gilbert did to him was crazy.
11:43And like, you think that he would ever go play for that guy,
11:46a guy who's supposed to be at the highest level of professionalism
11:51said the things that he said about LeBron and LeBron went back.
11:54And don't forget all like, and look, LeBron played it beautifully because he kept signing
11:59one year deals and basically threatening to leave them every single year.
12:02Uh, he ripped the trophy from him with like a little boy when he finally won in 2016.
12:08So I think that's, that to me was that to me, like, I, I got why the heat were blindsides.
12:15Like you're going to go back to Cleveland, like, like no disrespect, but right.
12:20Cleveland.
12:22And he kind of covered his butt with that.
12:25Cause he said, I'm going back to get the fans.
12:28And he never mentioned the owner.
12:30I don't think he ever mentioned the owner a second.
12:32He was there.
12:33So he called, says Leroy boxes himself in.
12:36He's mad at how Jimmy left, but defends LeBron and how he left.
12:40I'm not defending LeBron.
12:42I'm just saying like, he left as a free agent, whether you like it or not, he had,
12:52he didn't demand a trade.
12:54He didn't sabotage the team trying to get off the team.
12:59Look, the facts of it are free agent.
13:01He left as the best player on the planet by a long shot.
13:05And that hurts.
13:07That hurts.
13:07Right.
13:08That hurts.
13:09Jimmy Butler.
13:10Like, I still think Jimmy Butler can have another run in him.
13:12I really do, but he's not the best player in the world.
13:16And there are questions like you could definitely see it.
13:18Like LeBron, what did he leave at 28 years old?
13:2029.
13:21Right.
13:24I mean, like, yeah, that, that, like, I just, that's the hardest thing.
13:29And again, I understand sports and I understand the finances of it.
13:34You got to get your money and get it however you can.
13:37Okay.
13:39But then I hear when you talk about the relationships you have with your teammates,
13:44right?
13:45I don't care if you don't like the organization.
13:48I don't care if you don't like Pat Riley.
13:50I don't care if you don't like Spoke.
13:52But the relationships that you make in that locker room just seems like it would be really
13:59hard for me to act that way with guys.
14:03I've been with going at it with for that many years.
14:11LeBron's so lucky.
14:12Chris Bosch got blood clots, dude.
14:13We would have kicked his ass.
14:15Goran Dragic, Chris Bosch, Dwayne Wade, and Luol Deng.
14:20Dude at a cakewalk had to be nobody but Raptors the entire way.
14:25Lucky LeBron, dude.
