Johor will reject any investments involving imported e-waste, says Lee Ting Han.  The State Investment, Trade, Consumer Affairs, and Human Resources Committee Chairman said that Johor's stance aligns with the national policy on e-waste management. 00:00For investment related to e-waste, there is already a policy in the government level

00:12where we also adhere to the policy, that is, we do not allow importers of e-waste to go to this country.

00:21Especially in the Johor region, with the cooperation of local authorities,

00:25we always carry out monitoring and authorization.

00:28If there is anything, any company, especially in the pedestrian area,

00:33which processes e-waste without approval, then the strict action will be taken,

00:40including CETA, including fines, including the court order.

00:45And for the time being, we have not received a complaint,

00:50but if there is, then the state government takes it as a very serious action

00:57and we will not wait, we will continue to take action through local authorities.

01:04So if there are foreign investors who want to open e-waste in Johor, it will not be accepted?

01:08We do not accept any import of e-waste from abroad.

01:14But for the country, because e-waste is something that will be produced,

01:21so we still have to have a factory that processes the e-waste produced in this country.

01:27So what is important is that we do not allow importers,

01:31but for factories that process e-waste in the country, we still have to have a factory.

01:39We will not be the exporters of e-waste to other countries.
