Safety aspects at all train stations, especially facilities for persons with disabilities (OKU), will be reviewed and enhanced, says Anthony Loke.

The Transport Minister said this following a tragic incident where a blind man fell onto the train tracks and was hit by a train at the Titiwangsa Light Rail Transit (LRT) station earlier on Saturday (Feb 22).

00:23In a Facebook post, Lok said that the Transport Ministry is collaborating
00:28with Prasarana Malaysia Berhad and other relevant parties to conduct a thorough investigation.
00:35To prevent similar incidents, Prasarana will implement key safety measures
00:40including installing smart CCTV system to detect high-risk behaviour at train stations.
00:47In the long term, platform screen doors will be installed across all LRT lines
00:53to enhance passenger safety.
00:55Lok also said that passenger safety and welfare remain a top priority
01:00and that the government is committed to a safer, more inclusive
01:04and user-friendly public transport system for all Malaysians.
