00:0086 government agencies recorded cumulative losses of 2.8 billion ringgit in 2023, says

00:11She said the audit report on the 2023 financial statements of federal agencies found that
00:1659 agencies had 217 subsidiary companies with investments totaling 65.1 billion ringgit.
00:24Wan Suraya said 131 of these subsidiaries recorded profits in 2023 but 86 saw 2.81 billion
00:32ringgit in losses, Vernama reported.
00:35She said only 81 subsidiary companies paid dividends totaling 2.829 billion ringgit to
00:4132 agencies, including 14 companies that paid 1.432 billion ringgit despite recording losses.
00:49The AG also said 142 federal agencies held 2.696 trillion ringgit in assets and 871 billion
00:57ringgit in liabilities in 2023, although five agencies had liabilities exceeding their assets.
01:05She said 20 agencies had loans amounting to 126.56 billion ringgit from the federal government
01:11and financial institutions, including five with government-guaranteed loans worth 99.058
