00:00with Don Sweeney. Don Sweeney talked about the Charlie McAvoy injury, and was asked if he would
00:06need a follow-up surgery, and then there were follow-up questions about his care from Team USA
00:12during the Four Nations face-off, which Don Sweeney tried to dance around those questions a little bit.
00:18Here was Don Sweeney.
00:20No, a follow-up surgery? It's unlikely, but I'll let, you know, Pete, yeah, yeah.
00:25Did he really heal the injury?
00:26No, I don't think so at this time, but again, we'll let the healing, you know, take place,
00:31and allow the infection stuff to make sure it's gone, and it'll be re-evaluated. It's unlikely
00:37the nature of that injury, but, you know, again, I'll let Dr. Asness and Charlie determine the
00:44course of action and the timeline necessary for him to fully heal.
00:47Don, was the organization happy with the care that Charlie got after the injury in Montreal?
00:53Again, the care that Charlie received here is what's most important from a standpoint of where
00:58his health is at now, and that's all that really matters. Dr. Asness's team, as I stated,
01:01did a great job.
01:04Yeah, again, I'm not going to talk and get into any more details in terms of Charlie. I gave you
01:09the update in terms of what, how Charlie's doing, and that's what we're grateful for.
01:12Yeah, okay. The answer is no, not happy with the care that he got. I, Curtis, you might be
01:20interested, Dr. Diana was filling me in on this. Do you have a new doctor? Yeah. I don't know if
01:25I've mentioned her on the show or not. No, that's great. I have it for you.
01:27But she used to be the team doctor for the Erie Otters in the AHL. Right, of course.
01:36She was suggesting, she said 100% certainty he got that thing shot up during the game,
01:43and the issue that they didn't do was address the point of entry.
01:53Same thing happened to, I'm guessing, to Bonnie Blue, but they didn't take enough care of where
01:59they put it in, so then he put his gear back on and the sweaty, grungy, hockey shoulder pads,
02:07sending that infection basically right into the shoulder.
02:09Right, and then clean it out and cover it up well enough.
02:12Have you ever had a mid-game, half-time, quarter-zone shot?
02:18Yeah, I used to have shots mid-game all the time.
