अमृतसर, पंजाब: 1984 के सिख विरोधी दंगों के मामले में पूर्व कांग्रेस सांसद सज्जन कुमार को आजीवन कारावास की सज़ा सुनाए जाने पर दंगे से पीड़ित परिवारों ने कहा कि हम अदालत के फैसले से संतुष्ट हैं। हमें सजा-ए-मौत की उम्मीद थी, लेकिन हम संतुष्ट हैं। हम पिछले 40 सालों से बेघर हैं और 1984 के काले दिन कभी नहीं भुलाए जा सकते। पीड़िता बलबीर कौर ने कहा कि हम अदालत के फैसले से खुश हैं। हमने सोचा था कि फांसी की सजा होगी लेकिन हम संतुष्ट हैं। पीड़ितों ने कहा कि जो 84 का काला दौर हमने देखा है उसे कभी भुलाया नहीं जा सकता।
