00:00And at this point, let's talk about the latest updates on the administration's programs here in Mr. President On The Go.
00:22Firstly, my fellow countrymen, the Philippines and Japan are united when it comes to defense and security.
00:29They are also committed to the assistance of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Japanese Defense Minister Nakatani Jen.
00:37The Philippines and Japan are working together to strengthen their cooperation in security,
00:43particularly in operational cooperation and defense equipment, according to Japanese Defense Minister Nakatani Jen.
00:51Nakatani was able to meet his counterpart in the Philippines, Defense Secretary Gibo Echidoro,
00:56during his official visit to the Philippines from Feb. 22 to Feb. 24.
01:02Remember, the Philippines and Japan entered into a reciprocal access agreement
01:07to continue the deployment of Japanese soldiers in the Philippines and vice versa.
01:14The Senate of the Philippines ratified the agreement last December.
01:20Flag Officer-in-Command, Philippine Navy Vice Admiral Jose Ma'ambrosio Espeleta,
01:27and Japanese Minister of Defense Nakatani Jen,
01:30were also visited by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force in South Harbor, Manila on Monday.
01:37Vice Admiral Espeleta and Defense Minister Jen,
01:44continued to support the cooperation of the JMSDF and the Philippine Navy
01:49to ensure maritime security and stability in the region.
01:53Meanwhile, Japanese Defense Minister Jen Nakatani,
01:58also invited the support of Japan for the warships of the American or U.S. Navy
02:03that are sailing near the artificial islands of China in the South China Sea.
02:10This is what Minister Nakatani said to the media after the assistance of Admiral Harry Harris,
02:17Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command,
02:20that the U.S. military is at the forefront of the efforts of the international community
02:26to protect the open, free, and peaceful sea in the South China Sea.
02:32He added that he invited Japan to support the actions of the U.S.
