00:00It happened in a kidnapping case of a student from a prestigious international school in Taguig City.
00:10This happened on February 20, approximately 3.45 in the afternoon.
00:18The victim's parents informed him that his son was being dismissed at 2.40pm and was not yet home.
00:31Subsequently, the abandoned Everest vehicle was found on the off-ramp southbound of C5.
00:42After which, he was only considered a missing person, but assumed to be a kidnapping case.
00:51The next day, Feb 21, in Taguig City, a report of parents.
00:59Subsequently, in San Rafael, Bulacan, a vehicle was found that belonged to the driver of the child who was found murdered inside another vehicle.
01:20In that vehicle, he hid information regarding a syndicate which operates in this manner.
01:32The contents of that include pictures, conversations, cell phone numbers, strategies, casings of how they would do the job.
01:44Now, the driver is already deceased, so he cannot be considered a person of interest.
01:54However, the vehicle where he was found yielded evidence.
02:01Subsequently, a demand ransom of $20 million was made.
02:08This was the demand and refusal of the parents.
02:13After that, on Saturday, a video was released in which the child was cut off by a knife.
02:24When investigated, there was a conversation.
02:30The parents asked for proof of life.
02:34The proof of life was that the child saw the favorite song of his younger brother singing.
02:46The child smiled and saw the video of the child in good health.
02:55On Monday, the PKG already yielded positive results out of the evidence found when the cell phones of the abductors pinged.
03:15You have to understand that this group is very sophisticated.
03:19They say that our child is from a different place.
03:26However, a lot of children were left there.
03:30They were brought to the father and we examined all of them.
03:35We identified that the child was cut off by a knife from his right side.
03:49The child was brave. He did not cry.
03:53He was happy to see his parents.
03:57He was happy to see his mother, Taranta.
04:01We brought the child to the hospital.
04:04There was a brief debriefing and now the family is separated.
04:10Let me make another point clear.
04:13A ransom demand went from $20 million to $1 million to no ransom being paid by the family.
04:23I would like to congratulate the AKG, the NCPRO for their vigilant efforts in chasing after this.
04:33This is a function of effective policing.
04:38We suspect that the victim was abducted from a family that operates in Bogot.
04:48We are definite that the syndicate behind the kidnapping is also a former operator of BOGO.
04:58We are definite that the perpetrators used their former bodyguards who are now AWOL in the service of AFP and PNP.
05:14AWOL, so they are no longer in service.
05:18We are sure that the syndicate is still here in the country.
05:27We will make sure that they will be neutralized as soon as possible.
05:34We will make sure that this kind of crime will not pay.
05:40We will make sure that the ransom will be given to the family of the victim.
05:47Colonel Raleigh, the newly designated acting director of Anti-Kidnapping Group.
05:54What we are looking at here is a former group that was involved in the previous kidnapping incidents led by a Chinese.
06:04We will just withhold the name.
06:07But we have already caught people in the past, particularly in 2003.
06:13We have already caught people, but there are those that are still at large.
