00:00Hello there, welcome to your Wednesday evening weather update from the Met
00:04Office. It's showery this evening and overnight but drier weather coming
00:08through tomorrow for many and also some sunshine. Here's that low pressure
00:12clearing off the scene, taking that showery rain. A ridge then extends from
00:16the southwest, dominating weather particularly across England and Wales
00:20into the weekend as a weakening front moves in across Scotland and Northern
00:24Ireland. But through this evening showers extend from Northern Ireland down
00:28towards Wales. It could be heavy at times with some snow over the mountains. At the
00:32same time this showery rain here clears eastern and southern Scotland but the
00:36winds will pick up along this east coast of England and again some showers are
00:40likely. A scattering of showers across the north and the west of Scotland just
00:44moving in across northern and western parts of Northern Ireland. Inland though
00:47it's dry and cold particularly in the north with a frost even further south. A
00:51chilly start to the day and a windy one along this eastern strip of England
00:55first thing on Thursday morning. Any showers fading away across Wales and the
01:00West Country through the first part of Thursday. Look at this brighter skies as
01:03well as some sunshine and even where we see these showers across East Anglia and
01:08Lincolnshire things will improve through the afternoon. So a mix of clouds and sun
01:12through the day and just a scattering of showers across western and northern
01:16Scotland. A few running in across Northern Ireland towards the Isle of Man.
01:20Temperatures typically around 8 to 10 Celsius. Feeling cold in the wind
01:25along eastern counties and a brisk breeze continues across western Scotland.
01:30Now through tomorrow evening and overnight a fairly widespread frost
01:34temperatures will be lower under some clearer skies and even some fog patches
01:38are likely. The winds will be a feature of the weather across the Western Isles
01:42through the day on Friday and yet again we'll see some fine weather most places
01:46dry with a mix of clouds and sunshine through the day. However through Friday
01:50night and into Saturday this high pressure hangs on across England and
01:54Wales. Whereas into Saturday the 1st of March you can see this area of cloud and
01:58rain moving its way across Scotland and Northern Ireland. It will be heavy at
02:03first but it will weaken as it extends down towards Northern England through
02:06the day on Saturday. So it's pretty much just a case of those showers and then a
02:11legacy of cloud into Sunday morning across England and Wales. Now through
02:15Sunday the winds will pick up across Scotland particularly across northern
02:18and western areas. We hang on to some fine weather further south and yet again
02:23a mix of clouds and some sunny spells coming through and then into Sunday
02:27night another weather system moves in. So here's your outlook through Saturday
02:31temperatures on the up around 9 or 10 Celsius a few showery bursts in the mix
02:35but also some brighter weather. If you look to the stars through the next few
02:39nights you'll see a planet alignment a planet parade with seven visible two by
02:45telescope. Check out more details on our social media channels for that. I'll see
02:49you later.
