President Donald Trump accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of not being ready for Peace as long as the U.S. was involved in negotiations to end Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The meeting was originally intended to finalize a U.S.-Ukraine critical minerals deal. The discussion escalated when JD Vance accused Zelenskyy of disrespect, leading to a heated exchange. Trump, raising his voice, warned Zelenskyy that he was gambling with World War III. Zelenskyy pushed back on Vance’s call for diplomacy, pointing out that Putin had previously broken ceasefire agreements. He warned that while the U.S. may not feel the war’s effects now, it would in the future.
