00:00What's going on, everybody? This is Ne-Yo. I feel it is important to continue having
00:07conversations about mental health because life is precious. And if we're not talking
00:11about it, there are dire consequences to that. You know, people taking their lives, people
00:14taking other people's lives. None of that needs to happen. So, yes, very, very important
00:18that we continue the conversation. If there's something going on, talk about it, get it
00:22out. That's the best way to solve the problem. You got to get it out. So, yes, these conversations
00:27need to continue by all means and any means necessary. Being in the industry that I'm
00:32in will definitely challenge your mental health. The way that I balance it all out, the way
00:40that I navigate it is by understanding that some things are for the world and some things
00:44are just for me. You know what I mean? The music industry will make you feel like you
00:48have to give your entire self to your fans. And mind you, there's nothing wrong with giving
00:52to your fans, but at the same time, you're a human being. You know what I mean? Some
00:56things are supposed to be just for you. And I make certain that the things that are for
01:00me are for me. You know what I'm saying? And if it gets out to the world, you know, something
01:03that if something gets out to the world, I also have locked into the concept that opinions
01:09are not important. You know, there are people on the face of the planet that don't like
01:12me just because. And that's their problem, not mine. You know, and that is one of the
01:17ways that I navigate my own personal mental health. I can't let y'all drive me crazy.
01:21I won't let you. I honestly never really gave mental health much of a thought initially
01:27just because it wasn't something that was talked about on a regular basis. You know,
01:31if especially as a man, you're going through something, you keep that inside. You know
01:34what I'm saying? It's very hard to, especially nowadays, show vulnerability as a man and
01:40not get ridiculed for it. So for a long time, there was no conversation, you know, but now
01:44that people are actually talking about it now that now that it's OK to express when
01:49something is bothering you. Yeah, when I get those opportunities, I definitely do so
01:53with people that I know and trust that that I know that aren't judging me or are going
01:57to look at me crazy because of what's going on. And I feel like everybody needs, you know,
02:02an outlet of some sort. You know, mine is the people around me, my music, art, you know,
02:07figure out what yours is. Everybody find an outlet. You know, if you can't talk to a person
02:12journaling works, that's that's how I started, to be honest, you know, say to the path, but
02:15find an outlet.
