00:00I
00:02Felt really different than everybody else
00:06I don't know
00:08I just felt like I would wonder sometimes like if I was born wrong when I was little it was like my appearance
00:14I had glasses and like big rabbit teeth and frizzy hair and like, you know and freckles cuz for whatever reason, you know
00:21A couple decades a decade ago. You got made fun of for having freckles, you know as I was older
00:25It kind of got a little bit more personal, you know, I came out in high school
00:28so I was I was by in high school in a town where like there was
00:33Everyone was straight or closeted, you know
00:36And so I I definitely took a lot of heat for that and I started experimenting with my appearance pretty early, too
00:42so I had really short hair in high school and I
00:47started getting tattoos in high school and I was into like, you know, weird music and weird hobbies and I
00:55I think that being different
00:59People are afraid of things. They don't understand, you know, and I think sometimes that fear also comes from
01:07Perhaps like an internal desire to understand, you know and
01:13When people are young and they don't know who they are
01:16They can get really easily
01:18Provoked or triggered by a person who seems like they really do know who they are
01:23Because it makes them like have to reflect on themself, you know and be like gosh
01:27Like would I be that brave to wear that or do that? Like maybe not I don't like that about myself
01:32And I learned that as an adult and so it kind of helps me, you know
01:36Look back and heal that that part of me. I think that you know
01:42when it comes to
01:45Coping with bullying I
01:49Always try to remind myself that
01:53Other
01:55People's opinions of me no matter how much they feel like they matter
01:59They really really truly don't and that at the end of the day your reputation is not the same as your character
02:07you know, they're not they are not the same and
02:10if you know who you are and
02:13you continue to
02:16Grow and be in exist in honor of that person
02:19Then the people who love you and who respect you and who are going to become your community like your village
02:26like they will find you because
02:28That sense of self will be loud enough for them to hear and to flock to you. You know what I mean?
