00:24one of the reasons behind the slowdown of the inflation rate this February.
00:30In his press briefing, the Palace said that the decrease in the inflation rate
00:34was 2.1% compared to 2.9% last January.
00:39This is the biggest decrease in the inflation rate since September last year.
00:43This slowdown is a big step for the actions of the Marcos Jr. Administration.
00:49According to the National Economic and Development Authority,
00:52the continued decrease in the inflation rate is an indication that the actions of the government
01:01are effective against the so-called inflationary pressures.
01:06The agency will also strive to maintain a low inflation rate
01:11and to immediately address the possible rise in other commodities.
01:16The Palace also said that the government's target is still 2-4%,
01:21the so-called 2.5% average inflation rate.
01:24The lower rate of inflation is due to the slow rise in the prices of food
01:31and non-alcoholic beverages, which are at 2.6%.
01:37This slowdown is due to the slow rise in the prices of vegetables and other products.
