00:00I quickly turned around to see a seal flying at me. Then they tried to grab my camera. Little did
00:04I know, this seal was going to bite me. When a seal grabs you like this underwater, there's really
00:09nothing you can do. You're at their mercy. Then she started scratching me with her razor-sharp claws.
00:14I can feel them piercing through my wetsuit. And to make sure I couldn't escape, she firmly grabbed
00:19my leg with her left foreflipper. She even had a smile on her face, knowing that there's nothing
00:24I can do. This was one of her signature moves, the tickle attack. She knows I'm ticklish and
00:30she uses that to her advantage. You can even hear me laughing underwater.
00:36Seals don't have the luxury of having a scratching post like cats do, so instead they use a diver's
00:41legs. Seals will bite divers for two reasons. The first reason is that the seal was curious
00:46about the diver's gear. The second reason is that the seal was being aggressive and did not
00:51want the diver near them. I got really lucky here because she chose option one. She was curious
00:56about the texture of the wetsuit, so she grabbed my leg and gently pushed it into her mouth to give
01:00it a little bite. And of course that tickled me, so that's why you hear me laughing. But once we
01:05turned around, we realized we were being watched by another seal this whole time. The other seal was
01:09nestled in the kelp, just awkwardly watching us. And I think that made the seal that tickled me shy
01:13because they stopped tickling me and went down to the bottom. Remember, it's illegal to touch or pet
01:18a seal. The encounter is always on the animal's terms. Thanks for watching my videos and I'll see
01:22you on the next one.
