00:00The Commission on Elections has now recognized the Dominant Majority and Minority Party for the upcoming 2025 elections.

00:08Meanwhile, the written notices and show-cause order will be sent to the candidates who are also being targeted.

00:21The Commission on Elections has declared the Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats or Lakas CMD

00:28as the Dominant Majority Party for the 2025 midterm elections.

00:33The Nationalista Party is the Dominant Minority Party.

00:38According to Comelec Chairman George Garcia,

00:41the Dominant Majority and Dominant Minority Party will have priority in placing poll watchers in the polling stations

00:50and in the vote canvassing venue.

00:52They will also have their own servers and they will receive direct election returns from the presidents,

01:00like those received by Citizens Arms as well as NAMFREL and PPCRV.

01:06They are also entitled to copies or hard copies of election returns.

01:12The election of the two parties is based on the criteria set by Comelec Resolution No. 11119.

01:21This is based on the total of 10 parties that applied to become the Dominant Majority and Dominant Minority Party.

01:29History, or that's how long they've been in politics in the Philippines.

01:33Number 2, how many incumbents do they have?

01:36Number 3, how many run for each position, national and local?

01:41Number 4, how many women's participation?

01:45During the 2022 National Elections,

01:48CMDDIN was the first party to be declared as the Dominant Majority Party.

01:53Meanwhile, Comelec is expecting more campaign activities and campaign materials.

01:59The opening of the campaign period for local candidates in March 28 will be near.

02:06Comelec admitted that they are short of people and resources,

02:11so they cannot manually send out all the campaign posters that are placed in prohibited areas.

02:18Instead, they will send written notices at show-cause order,

02:23which are immediately followed by the candidates.

02:28We will just use the power of writing notices.

02:31If we remove all the posters, all the power lines, or all the waiting sheds,

02:41we will really waste our time in removing them.
