00:00And this is a team on the rise, no question.
00:03And yeah, they won a World Series, it was sort of a fluky deal, George, I think that's
00:06fair to say.
00:07But I think the pullback came last year, I think they're ready to make another step this
00:11year.
00:12And the lineup is obviously solid here.
00:13Wyatt Langford, health notwithstanding, is a superstar in the mix, batting third for
00:18them.
00:19Jock Peterson.
00:20Adonis Garcia has been banged up in the spring, we'll have to see how that pans out.
00:23But Simeon Seager, Langford, Peterson, Garcia, Josh Young, Carter, that's great.
00:28Jake Berger at the back end of the lineup, which is sort of crazy, because he could hit
00:3130 home runs at any time.
00:32And Jonah Ime is good, too.
00:34So their lineup starts to finish a lot of higher fantasy draft picks, I think, than
00:38the Houston Astros, George, which we haven't said in a while.
00:43You know, with the Yankees, someone seems to be pulling the string, and it's all unraveling.
00:48The Texas Rangers are right behind them, and there's a lot of strings that can be pulled
00:52here.
00:53All right.
00:54Corey Seager gets hurt all the time, right?
00:55He cannot stay healthy to save his life.
00:57I mean, didn't have the greatest year last year, Langford's already hurt now, Garcia's
01:01hurt now, Jock Peterson's your clean-up hitter, a guy who can't hit lefties at all, it's an
01:06all or nothing, right?
01:07He's the left-handed Jake Berger.
01:11Evan Carter really hasn't reached it yet, Josh Young was hurt most of last season.
01:14If they all stay healthy, yeah, this lineup's going to rake, and they're going to hit a
01:17million home runs.
01:18But that's a lot to ask.
01:19We haven't even gotten to the pitching staff yet, which has all sorts of issues as well.
01:23So theoretically, like I said, if these guys stay healthy, yeah, I think the Rangers are
01:27the best team in the division.
01:29But there's no way it's going to happen, they're already banged up now as it is here.
01:32So we'll see, like I said, I think this is, we'll see, this is, this is, I like what the
01:36projection is, you know, and then let's see what reality is going to come back with here.
01:41Because like I said, Corey Seager, if you tell me right now he's going to play 130,
01:45140 games, he's a second-round pick, right?
01:47He's going to hit 35, 40 home runs, Lord knows he never gets cheated on a swing, he used
01:52to go going for the downs every time there.
01:54And I am a semi-unbeliever, especially second base, which is so shallow here.
01:57I like their younger players, all right, I like Langford, but like I said, I get very
02:02worried, Dallas Garcia, who really didn't play well last year, now he's hurting here.
02:07I know it's March 8th, we got three weeks, all right, we have three weeks here, but you
02:10already said it, this weekend and next weekend are all over the drafts, you know, so we got
02:14to make these decisions now.
02:16And I get really worried about some of these offensive players on Texas.
02:19Yeah, yeah.
02:20I think that that's fair.
02:22You know, Jake Berger's a really good fantasy ad, strictly for power.
02:26Like if you need 25 home runs, based on what I saw with him in Miami, you're going to get
02:31it with him in Texas.
02:32I know he had an oblique issue last year, but I think he'll be a fine source of power.
02:37There's a good Rangers team, I think.
02:39Now, as far as starting pitching is concerned, not sexy on paper, but look who is in the
02:44back end of the Texas Rangers rotation.
02:46Hey, Jacob deGrom!
02:49Wow, is this guy going high in fantasy drafts?
02:51And you know what?
02:53With all of these pitchers getting hurt already and falling down, Jacob deGrom is getting
02:58pushed up.
02:59And Jacob deGrom is one of those guys that hasn't stayed healthy in a long time.
03:02And now, you know, he is emotional.
03:05Last year when he was hurt or two years ago, you could tell he really wants it and he really
03:10wants to be back.
03:11And if Jacob deGrom, George, if, if, if Byron Buxton, if, you know, I mean, we could play
03:18the if game so, so long, but if, if deGrom makes 25 starts, he's like a second round
03:23pick in fantasy.
03:24But Nathan Ivaldi, John Gray, they talk some bullpen maybe with him, Tyler Molle, Cody
03:29Bradford, and there's deGrom on the back end.
03:31Boom or bust pick of all in fantasy pitchers, it's deGrom.
03:35No question.
03:36I mentioned it earlier in the show, my home league, I have Garrett Cole, all right?
03:41And I had to make a decision on keeping him by last night at midnight.
03:44I did not keep him.
03:45My choice was he would keep Salvador Perez.
03:47Which you laugh about, but I hate catchers and Perez is going to hit 25 home runs and
03:51plays every damn day.
03:53Or Jacob deGrom.
03:55And I chose to keep deGrom.
03:57I am fully aware.
03:58All right.
03:59He's not making 25 plus starts.
04:00All right.
04:01I know that.
04:02If he does, by the way, I'll win this league going away because it means he has a solid
04:05young year.
04:06He's healthy and great.
04:07But he's not making that.
04:08And I know that.
04:09But we need, listen, you start, what, nine pitchers, you're going to have a million pitchers
04:13on reserve and I get to keep him round 21.
04:16So I have nothing to lose here.
04:18You move off from these guys anyway, at some point you're going to see that it's not working
04:21out.
04:22So I kept deGrom.
04:23Maybe I get lightning in the bottle.
04:24Maybe I don't.
04:25But yeah, this is what I mean.
04:27The strings are pulling here.
04:28DeGrom gets hurt.
04:29Eovaldi's been banged up.
04:31John Gray's nothing special.
04:32He was hurt last year.
04:33Maule's coming back off Tommy Johnson from two years ago, right?
04:36Bradford.
04:37Okay.
04:38Yippee.
04:39They got the youngsters, right?
04:40Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter, these top pros, right?
04:45And they say Leiter looks better, right?
04:46His fastball is not being hit forward to feet anymore.
04:49So we'll see what they can get from these guys.
04:51So there's some depth there or some upside there.
04:54But it's a lot to ask for.
04:55Like I said, I made a joke.
04:57The Yankees, if someone's pulling the string on the Yankees, the Rangers, it wouldn't take
05:02all that much to pull that string as well and see this all come unraveling due to injuries
05:06here.
05:07There's a lot of, boy, we better hope everybody stays healthy and it all comes together on
05:10offense and in the pitching stand.
05:13I think that's a lot to ask for.
