00:00The Department of Health issued updated guidelines that are far from being able to avoid and fight the effects of the hot weather on health.
00:10This is also based on the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marquez, Jr.
00:15In the issued Memorandum No. 2025-0114 of Health Secretary Ted Herbosa,
00:22all DOH units, including the Department of Retained Hospitals and Health Facilities,
00:28as well as the new Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services Centers,
00:32will implement the main strategy, such as the preparation of facilities and health workers,
00:38awareness of public health, establishment of cooling centers, climate-resilient health infrastructure,
00:46and early detection and monitoring of heat-related diseases.
00:52DOH also instructed the public to always be aware of the Heat Index Forecast in their areas.
00:59Wear loose, white, or light-colored clothes.
01:03Always drink water and avoid the heat from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for emergencies.
01:12You may call 9-1-1, 1-5-5-5, or 1-4-3.
01:19The DOH DM-2025-0114 instructs all DOH units, including the Department of Retained Hospitals and Health Facilities,
01:29as well as the new Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services Centers,
01:34to implement the main strategies on their own,
01:38and to also cascade and coordinate with local government units
01:43through mechanisms such as Puro Kalusugan, or PK,
01:48which was launched recently in the National Health Sector Meeting.
