00:00As the weather warms up, more and more people are opening their air-conditioned appliances.

00:08But be careful, Meralco's customers, because there is an increase in your bill this March.

00:20The 26 centavos per kilowatt-hour increase in Meralco's bill this month is just in time for the warm-up.

00:28For typical customers who consume 200 kilowatt-hours per month,

00:36this is equivalent to P53 added to their total bill.

00:42Three fees that can be seen in our electricity bill increased and resulted in an increase.

00:48The reason is that the one-time regulatory reset fee adjustment was completed last month.

00:57Also, the transmission charge and the feed-in tariff allowance is higher.

01:05The higher bill, of course, is expected to increase the high consumption of electric fans, air-conditioners, and other coolers.

01:14How much is your monthly bill if it's not hot?

01:17Just normal, around P1,500 to P2,000.

01:20So that becomes P3,000?

01:23This March, seasonally, the increase is not that big.

01:29So the consumption will really be affected, especially households in April.

01:51According to Miralco's study, their customers' consumption is increased by 20% to 40% because of the cooling appliances.

02:00If you can't avoid using an air-conditioner, make sure the filter is always clean and put a thermostat at 25% so that the machine is not difficult to use.

02:10As for the refrigerator, avoid opening and closing the refrigerator and just fill up the refrigerator up to 67% of its space.

02:18Miralco assured that their supply is ready to survive the summer without browning out.
