00:00You know, it's funny, the Jim Adler, the Texas Hammer text line. In the previous segment,
00:07I was still kind of paged down to like 20 minutes ago. I was kind of keeping a couple
00:12good texts on the screen that I was about to read. And then in runs John Lopez with
00:16breaking news. And during the break, I paged back to the top of the text page. About nine
00:22minutes ago, everybody's screaming at me to go look at Twitter. Nine minutes ago, Sean,
00:28green, all caps. Look at Twitter. Oh my God. Oh my God. They got something for him. I'll
00:33be honest with you. I told John this during the break, Seth, if you miss it, Kenyon green
00:39was just traded to the Eagles for CJ Gardner Johnson. And in the process, the two teams
00:44flip flop fifth and six round picks next year. So the Texans get CJ Gardner Johnson, very
00:50productive safety and a six next year for Kenyon green and a fifth. When John Lopez
00:56came in and told me breaking news. And the first two words out of his mouth were Kenyon
00:59green. Yeah. If I had hit pause on John right there and said, okay, what's he about to say?
01:05I would have guessed Kenyon green getting cut. I would not have guessed getting an actual
01:08functional asset for Kenyon green for CJ. Gardner Johnson has two years remaining on
01:16his contract for $19 million in total. And that's, that's good. That's I'm that's a okay
01:23by me. I'm bringing a guy that's much more swarm than Kenyon green was. And for anybody
01:30that's been, you know, arguing, Hey, Laramie was well liked by his teammates. Not as many
01:36as there used to be. Yeah. That's great that they liked them. Laramie was a bad influence
01:41on that offensive line room. It was a bad example to set a guy that only half cared
01:46about half of the game of football and played with zero physicality. They've, they've gotten
01:51rid of shack. They've gotten rid of 60% of last week's start or last year's starting
01:56offensive line at the beginning of the season. Um, you know, and Nick during the season,
02:01you know, was diplomatic and tried not to point fingers at, you know, said the offensive
02:05line at one point he said it was a false narrative that the offensive line was struggling. Three
02:10of the five guys are gone now. So I feel like it's a pretty good indication. Yeah. They
02:18dumped in the side of the road, like a recyclable. You know what I mean? Like you, you, you recouped
02:24good draft capital for Laramie Tunsell and cap space. You send Kenyon green out and look
02:30at the Kenyon green. The overall draft pick of Kenyon green is, is should be viewed as
02:34a failure. He was the 15th pick in the draft. You never got good play out of him. You got
02:38a lot of bad play out of him. He missed a whole year rehabbing injuries. It just never
02:42turned in anything. And especially when you look at the opportunity cost of you were 13th
02:48in the draft that year, you move back to 15th cause you felt good about Jordan Davis, who
02:53we just talked about.
02:54That trade was made with the Eagles, by the way, the one where they wound up with Kenyon
02:58green, the Eagles moved up from 15 to 13. You could add Jordan Davis. You could add
03:02Kyle Hamilton. You end up with Kenyon green. That part's bad. So you recoup whatever you
03:07can, man. And the fact that they turned Kenyon green, I don't care about the pick swap. The
03:11fact that they turned the last year of Kenyon green into a couple of years of CJ Gardner
03:16Johnson, who, by the way, I'm pro football focus was the 13th rated safety last year
03:21out of over a hundred safeties. He's a good football player.
03:24That's secondary with Kalen Bullock coming along the way he has man. That's good stuff,
03:31man. That's really good stuff. And then we saw as good as the defense was last year,
03:37there were too many times in critical moments in the fourth quarter where they had letdowns
03:42or there were big plays a lot of the big plays were a big one. So having a veteran back there
03:46to play alongside Kalen Bullock is going to be nice. This is, this is really cool. I guess
03:52my one, if I gotta, if I gotta try to find the dark cloud and all of this, if you've
03:58added another swarm type player to the defense, but then the offense, which has very few swarm
04:04type players remains, remains swarm lists as of right now, by definition, you've gotten
04:09more swarmy by taking negative levels, swarmy players out of the mix by Laramie and Kenyon
04:16and Shaq merely not being there anymore.
04:19You're by definition, swarm swarmier than you were before. Your point is well taken.
04:23There is a lot of work to do on the offensive line. Look, scrappy guys can get their butts
04:28kicked real hard to the same way, the same way non scrappy guys can. So yeah, it's a,
04:34it's more than just scrappiness. You gotta have actual play to go along with it. Don't
04:38Nick. If you're listening, don't stop here. Titus, get him out of here. Get them all.
04:43Get all the non swarmers out of here, man. Titus. See you later. I don't care what you
04:47get for him. Get a six, get a pick swap, get something. You'll probably get more cap space
04:52by trading him out of here to go get more good players.
04:56I, as long as you're dismantling the offensive line, dismantle the whole thing, man. Don't
05:01have to dismantle this ineffective bomb. That was the office got mold. Yeah. Black mold
05:06on these studs. I, well, but I still, I'm still, when it comes to the younger guys,
05:12I think one of the reasons he had to get Laramie tons rid of Laramie tonsil was the, the influence
05:18in the, the example that he sets the example that he sets in terms of, Hey, this is how
05:23a pro operates where no, he's a past protection specialist. He's not, he's as much as the
05:30people want to put up his past protection grades, they always leave out his run, his
05:34run blocking grades, which they're a little generous. So it's a bad influence on guys
05:41who have potential to be blue collar, physical players like Jarrett Patterson or juice scrugs
05:47or Blake Fisher. We need guys that are crusty old veterans in there. If you're going to
05:53bring it, you're going to bring a guy in who might not be all pro, but he's sending a good
05:57example for those young guys on defense. Look, they've done it with Jerry Hughes. For instance,
06:02Jerry Hughes, he's not been a starter for the Texans, but he's the tech, the kind of
06:06veteran you want influencing your younger guys.
06:08Daniel Hunter. I mean, Daniel Hunter is the dream. There's not a Daniel Hunter in, in
06:14the, in free agency right now on the offensive line. But those are the types of guys who
06:18are really good influences on the younger guy. The offense had Laramie tonsil and it's
06:23just, it couldn't be more night and day. The difference in the way those guys operate the
06:28on defense compared to the way Laramie tonsil operate. People are just as excited about
06:31this Kenyon green trade as they were about the Laramie tonsil trade. Kenyon green's a
06:37great dude. I'm sure. And as he lived, he's from the area here, but I just symbolically
06:41what he represents, I think is what people are feeling.
06:44He's still young and there's still hope for him. He's got to figure out a way to stay
06:48healthy. He is going to one of the best offensive line coaches this century and Jeff Stoutland.
06:53And like they did it, they had a reclamation project with McKay Beckton. McKay Beckton
06:57moved from tackle the guard with the Eagles and had a good season.
07:01They remember Kenyon's dad was the one who took a, took a swipe on social media, Chris
07:06trouser. So you can't complain about who your kid's coach is. Now he's, he's got the
07:11best. Um, how much cap space does this clear up? That's a text to the Jim Adler text line
07:18boss. More obsessed numbers are correct. Two years, 19 million. Canyon was set to make
07:22about five this year. So it's probably, they're probably using some of that cap space that
07:26they opened up with the Laramie tonsil or that they will open up with the Laramie tonsil
07:30trade when the league year begins tomorrow. Um, I'm glad they traded Kenyon green and
07:34got a good safety, but why the Eagles, if we traded him to any other team, he's out
07:39of the league in a couple of years now, he'll be a hall of famer for the Eagles.
07:45I think realistically you put all the, the issues with his play aside. He's very, very
07:53injury prone for a bigger guy and has been, I mean, he's been injured almost constantly
07:58since he came into the league. I think that's going to be the biggest obstacle for him.
08:03I think Jeff Stoutland can probably do some good things with him, but I, I'm not overly
08:08worried that this is going to turn into some kind of sour grape scenario. A couple of years
08:12down the line, Nick Casario is Michael Corley owning the entire offensive line, like the
08:17heads of the five families in the Godfather. That's from JV Tamales and Katie. Look, sometimes,
08:24sometimes also when you try to overthink a situation, you might be trying to figure out
08:28like, well, this guy in a different environment, he might be okay.
08:31What did I say? Nope, nope, no. You got a, you got a tumor in the offensive line room.
08:36You could just got a lot of it all out. Whatever tissue remains, remains, rip it out. This
08:40ain't a chemo situation. We're ripping it out, man. People loving this trade right now.
08:44At this point, Titus Howard is gone. A lot of people, a lot of people, Titus is probably
08:50wondering if he's next, LOL, kidding. Kinda the Texas
08:54Titus was, uh, seemed to be very much an admirer of Laramie tonsil and everything that
09:03came with Laramie tonsil. The whole thing about, I, like I did, I'd shy away from this
09:09because look, younger athletes are going to be different than other athletes, but Laramie
09:14tonsils, Instagram shenanigans and his outfits and everything just screamed everything that's
09:21your classic, really good offensive lineman. And it felt like Titus was like, Oh boy, that's,
09:26that's what I get to aspire to. I got to aspire to be a more influencer than actual offensive
09:32lineman. So maybe you remove the influence of Laramie tonsil and Titus Howard can become
09:37more of a blue.
09:38Maybe it's more fun if they ship him out though. Yeah. Oh yeah. I like this. I like it all
09:43off. This is fun. Don't overthink this. Yeah. Just it's the last 20 minutes of the Godfather.
09:50The texture is absolutely right right now. Yeah. You just kill everybody. Kill everybody.
09:54Kill everybody. Just take a Tommy gun to the hole. Everybody that's tell the young guys
09:58to duck and then kill everybody.
10:01Juice. Jared hit the floor, hit the floor. Blake.
10:09Oh my God. That is great. That is great. All right. So, um, and things are popping. Um,
10:17and big thank you to Nick Casario for executing that trade during our show. That was really
10:21nice of him to do. We got the John Lopez run in, got the running. That's my second or third
10:26running. We need theme music, you know, like you're running down the ramp on Monday night
10:31running hit someone with a chair. Yeah. How you guys doing? Oh, I got a smile on my face.
10:37It's before you actually, I was thinking, and you may hear this, the good fellas scene
10:44when Eric Clapton is playing Layla. It's one of the greatest scenes. That's one of the
10:48greatest pieces of music in history. Underneath one of the greatest scenes. Yeah. The bodies
10:51are all turning and they got Kenyon green hanging in a cooler. Can you frozen getting
10:57flipped over inside a garbage truck? Like a Frenchie. Yeah. Yeah. Oh man. That's what's
11:03happening. And by the way, Titus Howard be nervous. Yeah. Yeah. You're on notice. Be
11:08nervous. Yeah. Keep your head on a swivel. How you feeling Reggie? Uh, my head swimming.
11:13I am thinking about all these things. I hate, like we've already established this between
11:17me and you that, uh, I, I can have a little bit of a pinch of, for anxiety. So as much
11:22as I'm like living off of the idea that Nick Asario is absolutely hanging as you know what's
11:27and just putting them on the table, right? Like, I'm also like, so how do we fix this
11:31offensive line? Wait, wait, wait. Where's this going? You always have to have somebody
11:38that's thinking a couple of steps ahead. So you don't feel good about Ladarius Henderson
11:41starting at left guard. Hey man, if that's the cost of doing business for now, so be
11:46it. Yeah. It was funny. I'd said to Seth like 30 minutes ago, I'm like, all right, we do
11:49need to look at this rationally here. If they were to play a game tomorrow, their offensive
11:53line is probably Fisher, Kenyon, Patterson juice and Titus left to right now. I don't
12:01even know. Ladarius Henderson and Nick broker. Those are the last two standing. Okay. So,
12:06Oh my God. Yeah. I said broker bro. When they traded Kenyon, I said, it's probably broker.
12:10Okay. Bleep it. Bleep it. I'm deciding to lean into the fun of this blast. I am more
12:15excited about the, I'd prove that they are going to do whatever necessary to get this
12:20thing to where it needs to tear down, man. Yeah. It's a tear down in the old line room.
