The Florida inmate who cops say was communicating with the wife of "Ghost Adventures" star Aaron Goodwin as part of her alleged murder-for-hire plot is a convicted killer himself ... TMZ has learned.

00:00Ghost Adventures star Aaron Goodwin makes a living hunting ghosts and his wife allegedly tried to turn him into one.
00:08So Aaron got a call from Las Vegas PD. His wife Victoria had just been arrested.
00:14She had allegedly hired someone to have him killed last year.
00:17And it involved a relationship she started with a prisoner.
00:21The inmate she was speaking to in Florida is a guy named Grant Amato and he's currently sentenced to life for first degree murder.
00:28Why did she pick this inmate?
00:30It's that age old story of boy meets girl after girl sees him on a true crime documentary.
00:35They go through the guy's phone and find these text messages where she was going to pay another guy to kill her husband.
00:42So cops say that she had set aside a little more than $11,000 to pay for this to be done.
00:49So she had sent the guy $2,500.
00:52Which is a hit man down payment. Fortunately the hit never happened.
00:56It could have gotten close because they have text messages of the guy to the alleged hit man saying hey Gordo I need an update. Has it happened yet?
01:03And there were texts from Victoria to the inmate.
01:06She was giving this guy his location for Ghost Adventures back last October.
01:13In one of the text messages she said am I a bad person because I chose to end his existence and not divorce.
01:18Let's just say you're no longer in the running for wife of the year.
01:22When the cops go to Victoria she essentially says I didn't want my husband killed.
01:26She said she was fantasizing and daydreaming and very lonely.
01:30She claims the money she sent him was she thought was getting him a cell phone.
01:34For $11,000? Geez these tariffs are out of control.
01:39But the important thing is Aaron's okay.
01:41But he's probably ghosting his wife.
