00:00What's going on there guys we're back with another one got to talk about Ron
00:04Clark's reaction to Stephen A Smith and LeBron James getting into it just a few
00:10days ago and kind of I broke it down we saw LeBron at the Celtics game the other
00:15day telling Richard Jefferson exactly you know what it was and basically he
00:20was saying he don't care about none of the other stuff ranking me number two
00:25behind Jordan and all that is specifically about him saying stop this
00:30as a father and that's the thing that really got LeBron going and you can see
00:36that I think the name of the page is legends production they do all the audio
00:42enhancements so you can hear what players are saying on the court but um
00:46you know what Stephen a kind of revealed what was said to him on his podcast if
00:52you want to check that out but let's get into Ron Clark's video this paper
00:55you guys are correct man one I would never compare myself to LeBron James and
01:02what he's accomplished the stress and the critique that's come along with
01:07being who he is right that's a different level of scrutiny and expectations that
01:13he's had as opposed to other athletes and I do understand the father part
01:19though right because I got three babies like I'll kill for mine more importantly
01:25I'll die for him and so I understand wanting to protect them and Stephen a
01:30said that wasn't LeBron James the athlete that was LeBron James the father
01:35but what I say there is you got to separate that right one of pops famous
01:41lines on Friday was no baby let him be a man
01:45Brian got to let Bronnie be a man the first thing Jordan told me when he saw
01:49that because we were together he said pop I lose my shit he said if I did that
01:55if someone was talking about him and I did what LeBron James did he would lose
02:00it he said you got to let me be a man all fair points up into this point I
02:05remember in the older video I said you know at some point and this isn't just
02:10for young men but it's just for children that have become adults in general you
02:16have to sometimes put them in positions to let them handle situations as if you
02:23weren't going to be here if you were to pass away and not be here tomorrow how
02:27would they handle that situation so sometimes you just got to let them
02:30navigate but let's continue and I've done that with Jordan in high school
02:34I've done that with Jordan in college and I'm not saying that he's where
02:37LeBron is but LeBron did what he needed to do but what about Bronny James think
02:44about what LeBron is saying right and I agree with this LeBron Bronny James for
02:5055th overall pick for a guy who's played well in the G League and been on the
02:54bench and got you know some minutes in the NBA he is more negatively critiqued
03:01and analyzed than any player who would be picked in that position that does the
03:06job the way that he does it but he's also praised more he's also been
03:12drafted in the place that his resume probably didn't say he should have been
03:16drafted in he's also benefited in NIL when he only averaged four points a game
03:20he has marketing and commercials and publicity and followings and get paid
03:25away from the court more than Mac McClung who then led the G League in
03:29scoring and won the dunk contest three times. Very fair Ryan, very fair
03:34criticism so I know a lot of the narrative around people that defend it
03:38is like you know he's a 55th pick when we ever seen a 55th pick scrutinized
03:44like this well we've never seen one with this many endorsements that is able to
03:51monetize in this way with him being LeBron's son even if you look at someone
03:58like Shador Sanders and you say okay coach prime you know and all the
04:02attention he brings Shador as a player justifies you know what's going on in
04:09his draft position whether people think he fell out the first round whatever he
04:13solidified a high draft spot right. Bronny we know this is a function of his
04:20father nothing wrong with that if LeBron can press that button but you know with
04:25all the commercials and being seen in the light like this there's gonna come
04:30some criticism. Because you're LeBron James's son so what does it do to that
04:37narrative now right how how does LeBron running up on Stephen A help the
04:41narrative it doesn't because the narrative was he's there because of you
04:45he was drafted in the place he wasn't supposed to be because of you now all of
04:50a sudden we can't talk about him either now imagine if LeVar Ball runs up on
04:57Stephen A imagine if Tee Marant one runs up on Stephen A how classless we
05:02would say they are how immature we would say to say they are LeBron James is a
05:07father doing the same thing for a professional basketball player and I get
05:12it I 100% get it man sometimes somebody does something in this on site Stephen
05:17A say why you didn't call me Mav got my number right he say Rich got my number
05:22because LeBron James saw him and LeBron James wanted to make that point he
05:27wanted to show the world he wanted to show Stephen A and he probably wanted to
05:30show Bronny bro I got you and I'll do it publicly so everybody sees it the
05:35problem is this you ain't run up on Skip all them years he was talking about you
05:40you ain't run up on everybody else all that time he was talking about you and
05:44you gonna run up on everybody that says Bronny James didn't deserve to be
05:47drafted where he was drafted at you gonna have to do a whole lot of damn
05:50fighting LeBron James more than any athlete I've ever seen has shown a poise
05:57and composure when people are talking about him negatively like I've never
06:02seen he's truly been an example to every athlete in the world who's harshly
06:06critiqued to his son but now what you've told your son is even though I wasn't
06:12above reproach even though no athlete that's ever played the game was above
06:17criticism you are and I showed you that by checking somebody because I felt like
06:23they talked about you and that's to me where you got to separate father and you
06:29got to separate teammate because now if I'm Bronny James I know my dad loves me
06:33right but I hope because LeBron James is a great dad that he asked Bronny are you
06:38okay with this because this is gonna reflect on you more than it's gonna
06:41reflect on me. Now Ron Clark broke that down the way that he saw it and I guess
06:47the question many of us are gonna have to ask is can you have the limelight
06:51without the criticism I don't see any way that that's possible because with
06:57the limelight comes the criticism always been that way the praise at a high level
07:02and the criticism at a high level I can say that you know people have focused on
07:08how great his G League performances are you know he's gotten more loved than a
07:13lot of other people in the G League when he dropped 30 in the G League it's gonna
07:17be on it's gonna be on like SportsCenter, First Tate, all of the top shows but any
07:25other G League performance where someone goes for I think was it Cam Spencer
07:30somebody went for 50 or probably even 60 I can't remember what the exact number
07:34was somebody scored a whole lot this year though and it wasn't talked about
07:39like that and I just kind of want to highlight that you know you get the
07:46exponential praise so you will get exponentially more criticism and that
07:52just comes with the territory and LeBron said Bronny doesn't care now
07:57obviously he's a father and like I said Bronny almost lost his life on the court
08:04at practice last year and that's gonna naturally make LeBron any father very
08:09sensitive to what they say and who's saying it and what motives you think
08:13they have when they said it so it ain't like I don't understand maybe LeBron
08:18thinks Stephen A is coming from a place where he's disingenuous we're trying to
08:28give backhanded compliments maybe that's how he feels about Stephen A Smith but
08:32at the same time you know you gotta let Bronny navigate that people have always
08:38shut up to criticism and I know people like you know they bringing up what
08:44Michael Jordan did as if he never got criticism and that's a lie you obviously
08:50wasn't alive during that time or if you was alive during that time you're
08:54fanboying because Jordan was this what they said now that's ain't what I'm
09:00saying he's a selfish gambling you know you heard about him being adulterous and
09:06all kinds of stuff Diana White from Will of Fortune and all that you
09:11hear about all these stories about MJ and a lot of that was around him a lot
09:17of that was around him you heard about him and Mike Tyson almost fighting at a
09:22table over Robin Givens all these negative stories was out there granted
09:26wasn't social media and all that but you know there's been negativity around
09:33all of the top guys as much praise as they got you know is it was also
09:39magnified negativity around it too and it's just and so I say all that to say
09:46Bronny is attached to LeBron and largely most people weren't even thinking about
09:54what Stephen A is saying he says stop this as far as like putting him on Tyrese
09:59Maxey and what Stephen A was saying to me and I'll be honest you know I think he
10:05was saying LeBron you've pulled all the strings to this point to even get him
10:09drafted in this position they have to play him in real games because that was
10:14a part of your demand to stay with the Lakers so you pull back and let him
10:19play exclusively in the G League for the rest of the year that's what Stephen A
10:24was trying to say when he says stop this he was very dramatic when he said it but
10:29if I'm saying it correct you know if this is just how I interpreted it LeBron
10:36you've pulled all those strings and that's why we got we got today I think
10:40LeBron you'd look at it since he's been 18 you know Bronny was born around that
10:49time not too long after LeBron's been on the road all his life so LeBron's
10:55like no I want him on the team we go to these road games if it's just nothing
11:01more than me staying in the hotel room with him you know just building just a
11:07lot of the time that I miss being out the house providing then he had that
11:12near-death experience it's not necessarily about the basketball it's
11:16about the bond me have my little guy with me my little mini me on the road
11:21with me you know and because I'm I had to FaceTime him all these years you know
11:27when I'm on the road to have him in the room with me is so cool you know it's so
11:33cool he'd be playing college ball he wouldn't be able to do it he was a high
11:37school obviously he couldn't do it but if he's on the Lakers then our day-to-day
11:43is the same we can be in the same hotel room we can go grab a bite to eat we can
11:47FaceTime mom Bryce you know a jury together and maybe that's how LeBron see
11:53it in my opinion man but let me know what you guys think in the comments
11:56don't forget to Like share and subscribe to next time peace
