00:00Last thing to touch on is the Scotland squad was announced for the matches against Greece.
00:05There was a couple of ex-House players in it, Ryan Portis who's recently moved to Preston on loan for the rest of the season from Watford,
00:10John McGinn obviously in there, but I think probably touching on somebody who isn't in it yet,
00:15but perhaps this squad points to possible inclusion, maybe sooner than we thought in Kieran Bowie.
00:23You've spoke to him and you've spoke to people who have said that, you know,
00:27I can remember the piece you did where David Gray said his aspiration is to be Scotland's number 9.
00:32At one point, the striker options for this camp at least,
00:38readers Che Adams, Kevin Nisbet, Tommy Conway and 18-year-old James Wilson at Harps,
00:45you wonder, you know, none of those names are particularly, you go into the midfield,
00:51Lennon Miller of Mullow who is also there, but you've got captains in the Premier League and, you know, top players in Serie A.
00:58There is not those players in the forward line, there is a dearth of quality at forward line.
01:04Lyndon Dykes, not exactly going to Birmingham City in League 1 and, you know, tearing the place up,
01:08probably has dented his chances of, you know, regular involvement at least.
01:14Lauren Shankland hasn't been involved in this squad as he drops into a number 10 role at Harps.
01:19You wonder with Bowie if he can get a good run at it between now and the end of the season.
01:24Harps managed to finish third. Whatever part he plays in that, does he come into the Scotland contention?
01:30Maybe a wee bit, you know, maybe that aspiration when you're talking about that,
01:34maybe you're thinking two or three years in the distance.
01:37I think James Wilson's call-up in particular, a guy who's not really kicked a ball for any of the youth set-ups at Scotland,
01:44would suggest that if, you know, he can perform, there's opportunities there for Kieran Bowie to step into that realm.
01:50Yeah, I like James Wilson a lot. I thought he looked really good in the Derby.
01:54He's a proper, quite exciting young talent.
01:58I think a couple of the ones, you mentioned ex-Hibs players, but Kevin Nisbet's back in as well, isn't he?
02:03Not surprising because he's in good goal-scoring form, but I don't think anyone thinks he's what he was.
02:09There's a lot about Kieran Bowie and everyone within football knows that he's got loads of talent.
02:14And they can see the potential for him to be what he wants to be there.
02:18And he's got the ambition, and he's certainly got the dedication, determination, drive, everything you need for it.
02:23But what it shows is, if he performs, it looks like Clark is at least open to the idea of pulling players in.
02:31Now, he still needs to perform, you know, he's still getting his way back.
02:35Really good in some games, really good in the home game at Celtic.
02:39Quiet around the Derby, he was very good coming off the bench at Tannerdyce.
02:43I think it's going to depend on a lot. It's going to depend on how his team play, obviously, because you've got to be catching the eye.
02:48It's very difficult when your team's struggling.
02:51If Hibs were to finish third and get into Europe and do all that, and you're suddenly at the start of next season,
02:58he's playing in the Europa Conference League, and it's a good group, and he's scoring goals,
03:03then it becomes impossible to ignore him.
03:05And I think that's the ambition for every young player, isn't it?
03:08Just make yourself impossible to ignore.
03:10Go out and play so well that the coach cannot leave you out.
