00:00Do we understand that you were sick of training and hungry for racing?
00:19Not sick of training but I was ready to race so yeah I'm happy to race again.
00:24Is it today the first day that you can race properly which is race for the win?
00:28Yeah I think so. It looks quite a hard stage but I should be able to go to the finish line with the group but we will see how the race develops.
00:38How important is it for you to do such a long stage today ahead of Milano San Remo?
00:43We can also do long trainings of course but I think there's quite some longer stages this Torino so it's a good preparation for sure.
00:54If it's a bit sketchy that was a...
00:56It's certainly going to keep everybody warm but they are trying to make, they're imposing themselves on the race.
01:02I do believe and I think many others do, we heard from Mathieu van der Poel that there could be a biggest group for the bunch so that hasn't changed too much.
01:09That is one brave pennant man isn't it? Yeah.
01:12And proper standing water, deep and if you chug into that you can actually come off.
01:17Yeah you don't know what's below it as well.
01:20Buff over his helmet, there he is looking at us. I think it's one of the Q36.5 riders.
01:31He uses his cloak of invisibility to get away in the tunnel but he's not getting any takers is he?
01:37It's too cold, we need to warm up, go quicker.
01:40There's just no takers.
01:43And there we go.
01:45Yeah it is indeed Van Dijk who looks like he's got the second place there.
01:48And then clear daylight so Milan adding to his points for the Amalia Ciclimino and taking a three second time bonus as well.
01:57So he's now only... what was it?
02:01By my reckoning it will pace up but we've got the terrain is against them as well as the weather.
02:06Yeah the fastest time in the road book was 42kph now, we're nowhere near that.
02:13So that would have taken us in at 15.26, that isn't going to happen.
02:17It had to happen at the head of it, let's see.
02:20This is where, just watch, about six wheels in.
02:27That is a hugely impactful moment.
02:32Let's have a look.
02:33He's laid it down, it did say crash.
02:35I didn't see, let's have a little look.
02:37Slippery in these corners.
02:38Kwiatkowski going round that bend nice and easy.
02:40I just looked beyond.
02:41Oh there it is, look.
02:42On the right hand side, blimey.
02:43Aquaplane straight into that big puddle.
02:45That isn't good at all.
02:47So he can't actually press forwards.
02:49Johannes Don Mitter, that's their GC guy as well.
02:51That is the last thing you want to do.
02:53Did you see that?
02:54The chamber...
02:55And there we go.
02:56We talked about Healy.
02:57He's gone, the Terrier is gone.
02:59And look who's chasing into him.
03:01Oh my goodness.
03:02Garno Yuzo doesn't want to let this go.
03:04And the response is almost immediate.
03:06You can see Izaguirre starting to skirmish here as well.
03:08Who else is going to come and join the fun?
03:10That's the big question.
03:11And they're folding over each other right now.
03:13It's the young riders classification leader who wants to go for it.
03:15Garno Yuzo there.
03:17And number 201 in the white jersey.
03:19There of course is Carapaz.
03:21Just on his wheel as we spin a little bit further back down.
03:25Waiting to see Pitcock.
03:26There he is, just rocking and rolling into our consciousness.
03:29And you look a little bit further.
04:30Shaggy, Shaggy.
04:48Wow, enough.
04:50Wow.
04:58Fucking hell.
05:06Andrea, your first win of the Giro d'Italia last year.
05:08Is it good? Is it hard?
05:10Was it a long stage with the rain?
05:13Well, today was a long stage.
05:16For the weather and the overall situation.
05:19A stage of 240 km.
05:22A lot of cold, a lot of rain.
05:25In the end, I fell.
05:28Luckily, I hope nothing serious for my teammate Johannes.
05:31And for the overall classification.
05:33In the end, I knew I had a good sprint.
05:37I know I'm in good shape.
05:39And finally, I won the Adriatic Tire.
05:43Did you aim for this stage?
05:45Honestly, yes.
05:48But not 100%.
05:51The directors pushed me to work today.
05:56It went really well.
05:59You're not used to winning so early in the season.
06:02What does it mean?
06:04What awaits you?
06:05What awaits me?
06:07There are other stages of the Adriatic Tire.
06:10For me and for Johannes.
06:13For the overall classification.
06:15After that, I'll be in Catalonia.
06:18And then we'll see for the Giro d'Italia.
06:21Congratulations.
06:23You finished 10th today.
06:25Are you satisfied with that?
06:27Yes, the team has worked really well.
06:30It was a really cold stage.
06:33And long.
06:35But my teammates have done an amazing job.
06:38The goal today is to win.
06:41Maybe I want to try to anticipate too early.
06:46We put everything in the rubbish.
06:51Another stage is done.
06:53We'll see in the next days.
06:55Have you thought it was possible to win through the downhill?
06:58I tried.
07:00I didn't know how many riders can follow.
07:03But in the end, when I have another teammate,
07:07and start chasing full gas,
07:09I arrive really close.
07:11Maybe I can have more opportunities to arrive.
07:17At the moment, I'm happy.
07:19But of course, it's an opportunity to lose.
