00:00On this occasion, let's find out if there is a move on the price of pork today.
00:06Vel Custodio of PTV in Balitang Pambansa live, Vel.
00:13Now, the Department of Agriculture and Pork Industry players are meeting again
00:18to discuss how the compliance level of Pork MSRP for local pork will increase.
00:30The maximum suggested retail price of pork is Php 380 and Php 350 per kilo of pork in Kasim.
00:37Here in Mega Pumart, Php 380 to Php 400 per kilo of pork while Php 350 to Php 770 in Kasim.
00:47The MSRP of Sabit Ulo is Php 300 which is in line with the previous DA.
00:52Retailers are in favor of placing MSRP
00:55because it will be easier for the pork to be sold in the market due to its lower price.
01:00However, it is difficult for them to adjust and follow the MSRP
01:04because it is possible for them to lose money here.
01:06That is why retailers are asking to lower the MSRP of Sabit Ulo to Php 270 to avoid losing money.
01:12This has been implemented since last week.
01:15The compliance level of pork retailers is at 20%
01:18but the compliance level of Sabit Ulo is only 6 to 7%.
01:23The Samahang Industriya ng Agrikultura assures that
01:26the producers are not the ones who are responsible for the high price of pork
01:29but it is possible for the travelers.
01:31That is why the DA and pork stakeholders are studying again
01:34on how to lower the MSRP of pork sellers.
01:38The Pork Producers Federation of the Philippines also said
01:41that the MSRP of imported pork should be lowered first.
01:46If you look at the landed cost of imported pork
01:52the cost of one kilo of pork is Php 1.10.
01:56If you convert that to Php 59, it is only Php 65 per kilo.
02:01If you sell imported pork for Php 200,
02:05the MSRP of ordinary pork will be lower.
02:08It is certain that the price of local pork will be lowered.
02:14Now, as a government intervention,
02:17Food Terminal Incorporated plans to directly buy pork
02:21and sell it for free for a reasonable price of pork.
02:25From People's Television Network, Vel Custodio, Balitang Pambansa.
02:31Thank you, Vel Custodio.
