00:00Malacanang did not see any problem in the hearing of the Senate on the legality of the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

00:11There is no problem with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the investigation conducted by Senator Amy Marcos

00:19regarding the legality of the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

00:23According to PCO Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer, Atty. Claire Castro,

00:29they spoke with the President and he said that he does not consider this as a violation of the law.

00:37This is different from the last administration where the Cabinet members are not allowed to go

00:42when they are called to a higher office.

00:46President Marcos will not allow officials who are called by the Senate to go

00:52to show that there is nothing to hide.

00:55Aside from the truthfulness of Atty. Castro, they want to show what they did in accordance with the law.

01:04We will discuss this and whatever they will do to appeal to the Senate,

01:10we will not stop them to show to the people that we are just following the law.

01:17Despite the fact that the hearing was not conducted in accordance with the law,

01:20it is not clear to the other side of the palace as to what is the real reason for calling for a hearing in the Senate

01:27regarding the legality of the arrest of the former President.

01:31According to Atty. Castro, there is an existing law, RA-9851,

01:36which he used to commit the murder of former President Ecutibo.

01:40PCO Official added that even legal luminaries or law experts like Retired SC Associate Justice Antonio Carpio

01:49are accused of committing a pecto-turnover in accordance with the law against the former President in the ICC.

01:54RA-9851's Section 17 states that the former President may be extradited to the International Court.

02:03We do not know the real reason why the hearing was called.
