Paddling Legend Salty Jefferson returns again to share a safety lesson learned The Hard Way. In a case for canoeing and kayaking prepared: Always check the weather forecast.
Transcript
00:00You sure it's okay to go paddling today?
00:03Maybe we should check the forecast.
00:05No.
00:06It's all fake news anyway.
00:08Besides, it's probably going to be hot, especially with all this global warming.
00:12I learned that lesson the hard way.
00:16Paddling legend Salty Jefferson.
00:18Me and my pal, Dready Doug, were headed out for a paddle.
00:22My eye socket was aching something fierce, felt like there was a storm a-brewing.
00:27I went to check the radio, but Doug wouldn't let me touch it.
00:31The only thing he'd listen to were those live Steely Dan cassettes.
00:35We got out on the open lake, and the weather went to heck.
00:38Felt like there was rain and sour eggs, and rancid teeth on steaks.
00:43The flip, I walked in on the beach, but never saw Doug again.
00:48Never listened to Steely Dan again neither, that's why I always check the forecast.
00:54And you should, too.
