00:00Although the campaign period for local candidates, including congressional aspirants, begins tomorrow,

00:07the House Prosecution Panel has assured that they will continue to focus on the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte.

00:15According to impeachment prosecutor and House Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan,

00:20they respect Senate President Francis Escudero's opposition to their motion requesting the issuance of a wreath of summons to the Vice President,

00:28but they will still await his formal response to assess what their next steps will be.

00:32Meanwhile, another prosecutor, House Deputy Majority Leader Lawrence Defensor, insisted that the Vice President should be in the Philippines once the impeachment trial begins.

00:42He said, while they understand why the Vice President is currently in the Netherlands, she also has obligations to fulfill in the country.

00:50On other updates, Bawan, Batangas Mayor Ryan Dolore is now detained at the Batasang Pambansa.

00:56From Los Angeles, California, the mayor was arrested early this morning upon arrival at Naia Terminal 1

01:03by virtue of the contempt and detention order issued by the House of Representatives.

01:08It can be recalled that he was held in contempt by the House Committee on Public Accounts

01:22OFW Partidist Representative Marisa Del Mar Magsino welcomed the recent decision of the Supreme Court

01:28to nullify the existing requirement that OFWs should pay SSS contributions prior to receiving overseas employment certificates.

01:36According to Magsino, while she acknowledges the importance of SSS contributions,

01:41it should not be collected in advance or before an OFW even starts working.
