01:05where our structures should be able to withstand up to a magnitude 8.5 earthquake.

01:14The second is the quarterly National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill,

01:23along with the private sector when it comes to possible coordination in the event of an earthquake.

01:29In response to that, the government is ready.

01:32We have the ability to respond to that.

01:41that means in the Armed Forces of the Philippines,

01:43include BNP, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire and Protection, BFP,

01:49and the Span Personnel Rescuers of local government units.

01:53If you include all of those, it will not be less than 80,000 personnel in the whole country.

01:59Earthquake drills are also needed at night, especially if the earthquake happens at night.

02:05Although there is a quarterly nationwide simultaneous earthquake drill according to the OCD,

02:09the schools have their own practices.

02:12While studying the possibility of conducting an earthquake drill every month,

02:16according to the OCD, the West Valley Fault System is one of the 175 fault systems in the country.

02:22Aside from this, there are 6 active trenches in the Philippines

02:25where all can cause a strong earthquake.

02:28At present, there is no instrument that can predict an earthquake.

02:33In 2004, the Manila Earthquake Impact Reduction Study conducted the PHEVOX, MMDA, and JICA

02:39where there are more than 50,000 possible casualties in Metro Manila.

02:43Because of this, the OCD and JICA are working together to update the data

02:47especially since the number of the population has increased compared to before.

02:50And there is a need for a structural integrity audit.

02:54Everyone should not rely on the National Government alone.

03:00We did not do it.

03:02The National Government will not fund the evaluation of private properties.

03:10What the government can do is to conduct an evaluation of public structures,

03:18including infrastructure.

03:20According to the OCD, check the hazard hunter page of the DOST

03:24to see if your location is close to a possible hazard or risk.
