00:00Filipino food has flair in preparation and presentation and is flavorful.
00:05And on the kickoff of Filipino Food Month this April, the President took pride in hailing
00:09the country's cuisine and culinary tradition that reflect a richness of heritage and culture,
00:14and a standout identity showing compassion and care in sharing with others whether stranger,
00:20friend or family.

00:25From traditional rice cakes, thirst-quenching drinks, various desserts, and other dishes,
00:31it was truly a food is life moment during the kickoff of Filipino Food Month 2025.
00:36The event was officially led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. with this year's theme,
00:41Sarap ng Pagkaing Pilipino, Yaman ng Ating Kasaysayan, Kultura at Pagkatao.
00:45The President emphasized the Filipinos' love for food and their exceptional talent in cooking,
00:50highlighting its importance in shaping national identity.
01:20The President also stressed that the program served as a platform to enrich, preserve and
01:33promote our nation's food heritage, while supporting various industries, farmers and
01:38agricultural communities.
01:39The event also highlighted the importance of Filipino culinary traditions as an integral
01:44part of our culture and a key driver of tourism.
02:14In line with these, the President assured that the government continues to take steps
02:22to ensure that food remains accessible and affordable for every Filipino.
02:27The President also emphasized the importance of the 29-peso program and Rice for All,
02:34the establishment of a maximum suggested retail price for pork, and the creation of a fund
02:40for agricultural programs so that we can ensure that our food is substantial and affordable.
02:50Entrepreneurs also welcomed this platform as an opportunity to showcase their products.
03:16The President also recognized the hard work and dedication of farmers and fisherfolk who
03:21continue to ensure there is food on the table for every Filipino.
03:25Filipino Food Month is celebrated every April under Proclamation No. 469 led by the Department
03:29of Agriculture and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
