Delhi Capitals (DC) produced an all-round performance to defeat Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 25 runs in IPL 2025 on April 5. The right-hander opened for Delhi Capitals in Faf du Plessis' absence and guided the innings with a solid knock. In response, Chennai Super Kings were restricted to 158/5. Vijay Shankar scored an unbeaten 69 off 54 balls while MS Dhoni also hit 30* off 26 but that was not enough. Vipraj Nigam was the best of all Delhi Capitals' bowlers, taking two wickets (2/27) while Mitchell Starc (1/27), Kuldeep Yadav (1/30) and Mukesh Kumar (1/36) got one each.
