Anna Barrow, 40, a mother of three living with motor neurone disease (MND), shared her emotional journey of recording a voice bank after her diagnosis in May 2023.

Starting in August 2023, Anna recorded 50 random sentences and 300 personal phrases, including her children's names and swear words, using a specialized eye-tracking system connected to her iPad.

This voice bank allows her to communicate after losing the use of her arms and legs.

Despite the emotional challenge of the process, Anna finds comfort in knowing she can still speak to her loved ones, even if her voice fades.

The NHS Salford Care Organisation and the MND Association funded the £250 annual subscription for the service.

Anna's husband, Martyn, supported her throughout, with the process taking a year.

Though unsure if she'll lose her voice, she finds solace in maintaining her ability to speak.
