00:00PITX is doing an inspection on the buses to ensure the safety of the passengers during the upcoming Holy Week.

00:08Aside from the buses, they are also doing safety checks on their drivers and conductors.

00:20The driver of Base Salvador has been driving for more than two decades.

00:24He has been driving for a long time, and he knows that it is a heavy responsibility for him.

00:30He drives two times a day from Base to Lipabatangas.

00:34That's why his body is the first thing he needs to be conditioned, especially during the upcoming Holy Week.

00:40I always have an open mind when I drive because when we drive the buses, we don't just take care of ourselves.

00:48We also take care of the passengers and the conductors.

00:51Many of our countrymen are returning to their respective provinces.

00:55PITX Terminal in Parañaque is also being inspected.

00:59There are trips from the north to Mindanao.

01:02The furthest is to Davao, where there are two trips a day.

01:07Starting on Wednesday, PITX will expect to tighten the security for the passengers during the upcoming Holy Week.

01:14PITX will cooperate with DOTR, LTFRB, LTO, MMDA, and PNP for a better operation of the terminal during the upcoming Holy Week.

01:24But how will we know if the bus is safe?

01:30First, the drivers should be in good condition.

01:34Next, PITX will conduct random drug testing.

01:39The driver should not be drunk.

01:42Second, there should be a fire extinguisher on all buses.

01:46Third, the bus wheels should not be worn out.

01:49The bus company should replace the bus wheels every year.

01:54Fourth, the windshield should not be broken and the wiper should work.

01:59Fifth, the passengers should sit comfortably in the seats.

02:03Sixth, the speakers should work.

02:06Lastly, the driver and conductor should check the machine every day.

02:11According to PITX, they are planning to conduct safety checks on the buses, including the driver and conductor.

02:18Aside from that, there is a canine unit guarding the area.

02:21PITX also expects that the next few days, there will be fully booked trips, particularly to Bicol and Baguio.
