00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most legendary scenes
00:13in Naruto.
00:14Although, to keep things from leaning too much into action, we'll be focusing more
00:18on hype moments than full fights.
00:23After Orochimaru sunk his teeth into Naruto and Sasuke, the only thing standing between
00:34Team Seven and utter defeat is young, naive Sakura.
00:46Bear in mind, at this point in the show, she basically had three whole lines.
00:50Sasuke, Sasuke, and Sasuke, but with her back to the wall and her beloved at stake,
00:56she buckled up and proved she's a ninja too.
01:02While it was certainly a long time coming, Sakura's last-minute haircut proved this
01:07was a real turning point for the character.
01:09Even if she's considered more of a healer these days, there's no forgetting the moment
01:13she nearly fended off three sound ninja all by herself.
01:20There's no time like the end of the world to start reminiscing, right?
01:29Well, just as Naruto and Sakura think back on everything they've been through, the
01:33missing third of their squad jumps right into the battlefield.
01:40Sasuke's officially back to fighting for the good guys, and you know what that means.
01:46Team Seven is back in action, baby.
01:49It's hard to undersell just how euphoric this reunion feels.
01:58It took years upon years, countless fights, and more filler episodes than we care to admit,
02:02but seeing Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura recreate the three-way deadlock as a unified team makes
02:09it all worth the wait.
02:18One of the coolest scenes in all of Naruto happens in the very first arc of the series,
02:23and not even from Naruto himself, no, this one is all Zabuza.
02:27Enraged by his partner's sacrifice, the mercenary completely wrecks Gato's mob, injuries
02:33Zabuza's so wounded he can't even move his arms, but thanks to Naruto's kunai between
02:44his teeth, he doesn't have to in order to show everyone why they call him the Demon
02:48of the Hidden Mist.
02:53It's a bloodily vindicating spectacle, all brought together by the emotional tragedy
02:58of Haku's End.
03:00Naruto was just built different.
03:13Number seven, Sasuke wrecks the Ninetales.
03:15We always knew Sasuke meant business, but no one expected his Sharingan would let him
03:20see everything, including the inside of Naruto's own chakra.
03:24There aren't many ninja who have seen the Ninetales and live to talk about it.
03:37Kurama is so impressed, in fact, he compares Sasuke to Madara Uchiha himself.
03:42Most shinobi would take that kind of compliment to the grave, but Sasuke is completely unimpressed.
03:48He says the equivalent of, don't know, and don't care, and then disperses the Ninetales
03:53chakra in a single strike.
04:01It's unreal.
04:02Whatever Orochimaru did to train Sasuke in the time skip, it clearly worked.
04:12Number six, Tobi says he is Madara Uchiha.
04:15Another day, another mention of the one, the only Madara Uchiha.
04:19His name holds a lot of weight in these parts, probably because of scenes like this.
04:30As the Akatsukis start dropping like flies, Tobi finally unveils the bombshell of the
04:35century.
04:36Behind the mask, he's the scion of the Uchiha clan.
04:39It's a twist that sends chills down our spines to this day.
04:51Naruto devoted a lot of time to building up Madara as a mere god-like figure in shinobi
04:57history, and the thought of him re-entering the story ratchets up the hype to an eleven.
05:03Even though this reveal ended up being a big ruse, the ramifications of this scene are
05:08anything but.
05:17Number five, Naruto protects Tsunade.
05:21He may be a bit of a knucklehead, but Naruto Uzumaki never breaks a promise.
05:25He told Tsunade he'd master the Rasengan in three days, and ever the gambler, she agreed
05:31to the bet.
05:32Of course, neither of them knew the deadline would come in the middle of a life or death
05:37match with Kabuto.
05:48He's out for Tsunade's blood, but Naruto refuses to get out of his or his kunai's
05:53way.
05:54Then, to really bring it home, Naruto delivers one of his classic, inspiring monologues before
06:04blasting Kabuto off with his first ever Rasengan.
06:08It's a deeply empowering turning point for everyone involved, and showed once again why
06:13you can always bet on Naruto.
06:19Number four, Itachi on the throne.
06:22Sasuke spent almost half the series with one singular goal in mind, killing Itachi.
06:31The two brothers were destined to cross paths eventually, and after all the training Sasuke
06:36underwent, it really felt like he had a chance to win.
06:40They sparred, exchanged jutsu, and just when things were looking up, Itachi pointed away.
06:50As it turns out, Sasuke had only been fighting an illusion, and the real Itachi was nice
06:56and cozy right where he belonged, atop a throne.
06:59The word awesome doesn't do it justice.
07:02Itachi was already one of Naruto's coolest characters before this.
07:06The bait and switch was really just a victory lap for him.
07:15Number three, burying the hatchet.
07:17Revenge tastes so sweet, unless you're Hidan.
07:21In that case, it probably tastes a lot like dirt.
07:27While the immortal Akatsuki probably thought he could kill anyone and get away with it,
07:32he majorly overplayed his hand when he struck out Team 10's leader, Azuma.
07:37Grief-stricken and ready for payback, Shikamaru devised a plan to put the eternal villain
07:42down for good, six feet deep down to be exact.
07:50He doesn't bring Azuma back or rectify any of the horrible crimes Hidan committed, but
07:55seeing the smug jerk finally get his due still feels pretty damn good.
08:00It's just like burying the hatchet, after all.
08:13Number two, Naruto's grand entrance.
08:16When Pain's almighty push levels all of Konoha as we know it, Sakura can only think
08:22of one person capable of saving the day.
08:34You know him, you love him, it's Naruto, of course.
08:37And he brought along some toads, too.
08:40It's probably one of the greatest entrances in all of anime.
08:43Not just because the music and animation are top-notch, but also since this is such a full-circle
08:49moment for Naruto's character.
08:57For the first time, he's truly the hero he always wanted to be.
09:01This is essentially the culmination of everything Naruto is as a series, all manifested in one
09:07unforgettable appearance.
09:31Number one, Rock Lee drops his weights.
09:34With the Chunin exams graded off-spirit, Rock Lee would win by a landslide.
09:39Instead, he found himself in a one-on-one against the monstrous Gaara.
09:44So, with no other choice, the bulka goofball decided to drop his training weights, creating
09:50a genuinely iconic anime scene in the process.
10:01Everything Lee had been holding back all this time recontextualises every single fight
10:06he'd ever been in.
10:07What's more, his new unburdened power unleashes a mix of style and speed capable of piercing
10:13even Gaara's defences.
10:19Perfectly encapsulating character, plot and action, Rock Lee's free-spirited evolution
10:25is a one-of-a-kind moment that nothing in Naruto has ever quite managed to top.
