00:00A scramble for food in Gaza. Women, children and men stampede for bread rations donated
00:06by a charity. As the enclave's food stocks continue to deplete, concerns about a potential
00:12famine outbreak have been growing. For 37 days, Israel has blocked the entry of any
00:18form of aid into the territory. And now the United Nations is sounding an alarm.
00:23And top officials from a number of UN agencies, notably OCHA, the World Food Programme, UNRWA,
00:30UNICEF and UNOPS, issued a statement a short while ago calling on the world to react with
00:35urgency to save Palestinians in Gaza. The UN officials noted that for over a month,
00:42no commercial or humanitarian supplies have entered Gaza, and more than 2.1 million people
00:47are trapped, bombed and starved again. Food, medicine, fuel, shelter supplies are piling
00:54up at crossing points, and vital equipment is also stuck. Although the latest ceasefire
01:00allowed humanitarians to see that supplies reached every part of the Gaza Strip, they
01:07said that assertions that there is now enough food for all of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip
01:14are far from the reality on the ground. Israel resumed its full-scale bombing of Gaza on
01:19March 18th, breaking a ceasefire with Hamas.
