00:00Well, we have some lingering moisture. We should see decreasing clouds today after we burn off
00:03some fog. And a nice weekend here, more like mid-May as far as temperatures go. But the
00:08next chance the rain moves in Sunday to Monday with some snow possible north.
00:22So high pressure building back into Minnesota today. That doesn't mean automatic sunshine,
00:26though. We still have some lingering low clouds and fog this morning to burn through here. So
00:31decreasing clouds and more sun than cloud cover, I think, by the afternoon hour. So visibility will
00:37improve these dark areas. Our areas of fog that'll burn off here by the mid to late morning hours
00:42should give way to a fair amount of sunshine, at least already starting the day with sunshine in
00:47the northern part of the state. And again, those patches of clouds will decrease. But we'll start
00:51to see some high clouds move in later in the day, too, as those clouds break up. So not totally
00:56sunny, but not completely overcast like yesterday either. Highs mostly in the 50s, pretty much
01:01statewide today, but a little cooler here in the southeastern part of the state, probably just low
01:0550s where we'll hang on to more of those low clouds. Tomorrow, though, warmer across the state well
01:10in the 60s, even some low 70s in southwestern Minnesota. And those 70s spread eastward Sunday.
01:16The whole southern half of the state should see highs of 70 plus. Very light winds today, too,
01:20just about five miles an hour or less. But the winds will start to increase as warmer air moves in for
01:25tomorrow. It's going to be breezy, 10 to 20 miles an hour out of the south here in the southern part
01:29of the state. But with temperatures in the upper 60s, not bad. We can handle that. But Sunday will
01:34be warmer, low 70s across southern Minnesota. Northern Minnesota, though, more clouds. And we'll
01:39start to see some of that precip. Already late Saturday, some showers developed for northern
01:43Minnesota. I think we'll stay dry here in southern Minnesota. But Sunday, we'll see some spotty showers,
01:48maybe even a couple thunderstorms with more numerous showers to the north. And that rain will turn to snow
01:52late Sunday night into Monday as colder air wraps into the system. And we could even see some
01:57accumulations in northern Minnesota. And still looking at the possibility of just enough
02:02instability here in southern Minnesota that whatever showers we do see could be in the form of a couple
02:07of spotty thunderstorms late Sunday. So definitely spring-like there. Here's the European model's
02:14lightning forecast. You can see midday and late afternoon we could see a couple of showers and
02:18thunderstorms if that pans out with just enough instability. Not expecting any severe weather,
02:23though, or anything like that. But this is really going to be confined to the northern half of the
02:27state. The bulk of the precip will be to the north. So anywhere from a quarter to three-quarters
02:32of an inch of liquid equivalent. Further south, yeah, pretty spotty precip amounts here for Sunday
02:38into Monday and Tuesday. And also that potential for snow, not a lot, not significant, but maybe some
02:44slushy accumulation of an inch or so in the northern parts of the state with the bulk of that
02:49snow probably falling more into Ontario. So warmer for the weekend. Anomalous warmth will be about 15
02:56degrees above normal here Sunday. And then cooler air does slide in with that system. So while we won't
03:01see a lot of precip, we will see the cool air behind it. Monday, Tuesday, back probably into the low to
03:05mid-50s before things warm back up to near 60 plus by Wednesday again. So a little bit of a spring
03:11roller coaster. Pretty typical of April. 55 today. Again, decreasing clouds. We should see more sun in
03:17the afternoon versus the morning. 68 tomorrow. Very nice day. More like mid-May. 70 on Sunday. Again,
03:25a couple of showers and thunderstorms in southern Minnesota, but not definitely all-day precip event
03:31and a few more spotty showers. Monday, cooler Monday, Tuesday. Warmer again Wednesday. And then the
03:37next system moves in Wednesday night into Thursday. We'll see the next chance of showers,
03:40maybe some thunderstorms, and maybe even snow in northern Minnesota again.
