05:47the US president claimed he got every answer right. Trump is an avid golfer and said he recently
05:54won tournaments played at clubs he owns in Florida. The US president, who turned 79 in June, became

07:26Sunday, his family said.
07:30He won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2010.
07:36His celebrated novels include The Time of the Hero and Feast of the Goat.
07:43Vargas Leoza was a leading figure in the boom generation of Latin American writers.

07:56in 1990.

08:14Expo 2025 officially opened in Osaka, with more than 10,000 people present to attend the
08:20opening ceremony.
08:22The Japanese city has hosted the six-month event once before in 1970.
08:27The event set expo attendance records for decades until it was eventually topped by the 2010
08:33Shanghai Expo.
08:35Japanese fans of the event were thrilled to see it come back to home turf.
08:39The event was off to a slow start, having only sold nine million tickets in advance, a steep drop-off from the initial target of 14 million.
09:00But with about 80 pavilions on offering from more than 160 different countries, regions and organizations, organizers believe there is something for every visitor to enjoy.
09:12The theme of the Osaka Expo is creating a future society for our lives.
09:28The event comes at a time of global turbulence, with U.S. President Donald Trump's tariffs and various conflicts like the wars on Gaza and Ukraine.

09:45The textile industry is holding its breath.
09:56In a U-turn, the U.S. President announced on Wednesday a 90-day pause in reciprocal tariffs except for China.
10:02If he were to carry out his threat, products from the EU entering the United States would be subject to a 20% surtax.
10:12We took the pulse of the textile sector at a time of uncertainty.
10:17European exports of textiles and apparel is around 7.5 billion euro per year.
10:23So if Mr. Trump maintains his 20% tariff addition, that means 1.5 billion euro of tariffs.
10:33So that's the impact, if things stay as they are.
10:39Across, in that 7.5 billion, it's mainly high-end apparel products.
10:45So fashion products coming from Italy, from France.
10:47So these are the countries that would have the biggest impact.
10:50More worryingly, Asian textile products not exported to the United States could end up being redirected to the European market.
11:00If that wall is being established from China, from Cambodia, from Vietnam,
11:05there will be a bigger supply, an even bigger supply of apparel products made in Asia pushed on the European markets.
11:14And so that indirect impact may be even bigger than the direct consequence of paying 20% tariffs on the U.S. markets.
11:24EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she wouldn't tolerate an influx of Chinese products onto the European market
11:32and would take safeguard measures if necessary.
11:35EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she wouldn't tolerate an impecats.
