What if your EV could power your home and lower your electric bill? On this episode of Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch: On the Street, Roarke from Latent Energy presents his company, which is helping EV owners tap into their vehicles' full potential with a smarter and more energy-efficient solution.

Rogers Healy says, “When in doubt, mention you went to Harvard Business School,” and while there’s no prototype yet, he’s into the pitch... And Chris’s vest. Could this be the next big energy shift?

00:00The EV space is so hot right now, like Hansel and Zoolander.
00:03I'm Rourke, co-founder of Leighton.
00:05Today, 85% of electric vehicles' battery capacity goes unused.
00:08That capacity and service to the energy grid is worth over $6,000 a year.
00:12Prior to my time at Harvard Business School,
00:13my co-founder and I were in the automotive industry working on this technology,
00:16but we saw the industry wasn't solving an end-to-end solution for customers.
00:18That's where Leighton comes in.
00:20Leighton provides the in-home hardware and software
00:21to connect you as an EV owner with 1,400 utilities across the country,
00:24enabling you to monetize this excess capacity in your EV's battery
00:27while also providing the in-built benefit of four days' worth of home backup power.
00:30We're finalizing our raise now. We'd love to have you join.
00:32Rourke seems like the real deal.
00:34You know, when in doubt, always tell people you went to Harvard Business School.
00:38That never, never hurts, and I'm being serious.
00:40Rourke seems to have been able to create a niche.
00:44Sometimes people say niches get rich.
00:47Sometimes niches get stitches.
00:49I'm definitely interested enough to hear more about the product,
00:51but I also think he should have some sort of visual.
00:53This is a product, which means we need to see it.
00:55Most importantly, Rourke, great best.
00:57Thank you so much for being a part of Elevator Pitch on the Street.
01:01To show our gratitude, Amazon Business would like to gift you $500
01:04to use however you need in the business.
