00:00Riff TV presents Meltdown's Meltdown.
00:08This is like the inner workings of WRIF.
00:11We've got Jess here.
00:12She's putting together the VIP passes for the finals party.
00:16Hey, you've seen my videos, right?
00:17You've watched them all probably.
00:19No.
00:20They're on the website, you know, WRIF.com.
00:23Anyways, that's the thing.
00:24I've got to get more people to watch them.
00:25What's hot right now?
00:26I mean, what do you think?
00:27Um, you know, Game of Thrones is really, really big right now.
00:30That's right.
00:31There was a big episode this week, wasn't there?
00:33Mm-hmm.
00:34Yep.
00:35That gives me an idea.
00:37Yeah.
00:38Ah, yeah, that's right.
00:40The Tardashians and Jon Snow, King's Landing.
00:45I mean, this is going to be so fantastic, man.
00:48I love this.
00:49Don't forget about the Lanterners.
00:54I don't know.
00:55We'll figure it out as we go along.
00:58This is going to explode.
01:01Meltdown.
01:02What are you doing?
01:03Well, they shot Game of Thrones like this,
01:06and look how well that turned out.
01:08Game of Thrones?
01:09Well, you do look a little like Tyrion.
01:12Here, don't forget your goblet.
01:14Tyrion.
01:20Tyrion.
01:23You don't just look like Tyrion.
01:27Except he may be a couple inches taller.
01:29All right.
01:30Lady at the front desk, please stop.
01:32Hey, here's an invite to check out my latest Talking Rock with Meltdown podcast.
01:35I had the legendary Duff McKagan on, who is a little bit taller than me.
01:39He talked about one of the songs on his upcoming solo record that deals with the death of fellow rock stars Scott Weiland,
01:44Chester Bennington, Prince, and even Chris Cornell.
01:47Check it out.
01:48Scott's death was a thing that I could, you know, he and I went through a lot.
01:53I don't know if you know the story, before Velvet Revolver, him getting sober, he and I went to the mountains,
02:01the Cascade Mountains, for a month and kind of basically did kung fu for a month and got him off what he was on.
02:12And we then started the band, and he got his family back.
02:18And that was my intention, you know, I have a wife and two girls, and my intention, he wanted to ask me for help,
02:26and I get, you know, I said, if you're ready for help, I can help you.
02:30But the way I got sober is through martial arts, so we can do that, you know.
02:35And it worked for a while, man, for a good while, a couple years, and he got his family back and all of that.
02:40And then seeing him kind of peel off of that was really sad to watch.
02:47And I talked to a bunch, I said, Scott, this is only going to go one place.
02:51You and I both know it.
02:52I got a lot of experience with this meltdown, as you know.
02:57And we saw where that went with Scott.
03:01And I didn't really know where to place that in my kind of whole thought process.
03:06Prince has been this huge, like, kind of deity in my musical life, a touchstone you probably wouldn't be able to tell by my playing or anything I've done.
03:16But we all have that person as musicians that we really kind of use as touchstones, and Prince was that for me.
03:26Him dying like he did, like, completely unexpected for me.
03:31And then Chris Cornell, you know, I got stories about all of these people.
03:36You know, our wives were pregnant at the same time.
03:40We had the kids two weeks apart.
03:42We hung out a lot when our girls were small.
03:46And I've known him since I was a teenager.
