00:47i when i was becoming a u.s citizen i was in the room with a guy who was being interviewed and he
00:55was trying to bring his wife over to the united states and he was like they were asking how many
01:03times have you met and he was like i've never met her so darren's here in detroit his mom is the one
01:10that started talking to this girl in this pen pal facebook group and said oh my god you'd be perfect
01:16for my son is this just how bad it is in the uk right now that people are just trying to get out
01:21of there people are trying to get out of the uk to me this guy could have his pick of like
01:27american girls here's a little bit of them talking here so you can uh see what's going on
01:33i'm aisha and i got married to my husband who lives in america over zoom yeah even though i haven't
01:42met in person yet oh my god it's him oh my god it's him and uh i messaged him first i got his
01:52information from his mom and then messaged him he messaged me back i guess if you know your kids
01:58into big girls i think my first impressions were that it was it was really weird because i remember
02:05when we first we first spoke on the phone and i think we both kind of expected it to be awkward
02:11because like we'd only really messaged each other and we'd never heard each other's voices or spoke
02:17but it was kind of like we'd we'd already spoke to each other before like we'd it wasn't like it
02:24was the first time that we spoke to each other i already want to blow my own head off oh my god i
02:30can't listen to her talking i don't know darren's last name i'd love to reach out and find this darren
02:36who lives around here and talk to him about how this all happened but something's got to be up here
02:41um they arranged to meet in the u.s but were unable due to travel restrictions she's a cleaner
02:48in the uk she actually had booked flights to detroit this summer for herself and her mom and dad
02:55but the u.s was still restricting travel from the uk so they weren't able to fly directly she figured
03:01she'd try and get around that by flying to mexico first and then catching a flight from mexico to
03:07detroit but was blocked by u.s immigration did darren speak to this what if darren's not real that's what
03:14i'm wondering you just don't ever know how low someone's self-esteem is on either side of this

04:41stereotype yeah but they do they exist over here i think that she's a little more exotic because of
04:46that accent that's the only thing exotic about her when i met darren it was like when i knew right
04:53away that he was gonna be the one we talked on the computer for about 20 minutes now you imagine
05:00so in the 20 minutes he probably said four words yeah why is she doing the interview in her bed
05:05that's probably where she's can be that's like where did you see her i don't know she's moving

05:45she's exciting exotic and exciting so the jig is up darren and then the other thing is it was the mom
