“This is only a temporary attitude that court has exhibited”, Salman Khurshid on Waqf act in SC

New Delhi, April 17, 2025 (ANI): Speaking on hearing over Waqf Amendment act in Supreme Court, Congress leader Salman Khurshid said, “This is only a temporary attitude that the court has exhibited. Now, the government has the right to come back and explain things in greater detail..."He said, “In this case, like in the farmers' laws, the laws had been stayed, similarly, in this case, the court felt that this required to be stayed, or some aspects required to be stayed, not the entire law, but some aspects... So there they pushed and they gave an indication that they would stay them, but the Solicitor General said, I am conceding that till the final hearing, etc, we won't rely on these provisions, including members to be nominated to the boards and members to be nominated to the council.
