00:19Os lights são out.
00:20Bem, a besta de start vem da segunda mão,
00:22e Will Blackwell-Chamber, talvez, predictamente,
00:24bursts through on the outside line.
00:26Ele não está muito bem a challenge Alistair Dendy para o lead,
00:28mas ele vai clear, Jim Barrett for second position.
00:31Jack Harding's trying to go with him on the outside,
00:32Barrett is sideways, Harding gets through.
00:35Watch Aidan Hills coming as well in the blue and orange car to the outside.
00:38Hills to the outside of Harding even.
00:40Oh, a little bit of a tap in the tail for Ollie Hawley,
00:42almost clattered into Sam Middleton.
00:44Jim Barrett's car's all over the place, isn't it?
00:45He had a slow and off, big time in the background.
00:47George Grant is one of them, the 88 is the other.
00:50That's Martin Whitehouse, big damage done to the front of Whitehouse's car.
00:54Grant, amazingly, is attempting to carry on,
00:56but Whitehouse going no further of that, I'm sure.
00:59He's doing his best in fairness to pull the car out of harm's way,
01:02but that was a tangling of wheels, I think,
01:03just as they exited Druids for the first time,
01:06and that may well require a safety car period.
01:09The leaders exiting clearways for the first time of asking,
01:12and who is going to have the lead?
01:13Will it be Alistair Dendy, or will it be Will Blackwell-Chamber?
01:15It is going to be almost a dead heat at the line,
01:17but Dendy on the outside line will hang on for the time being.
01:21Is Blackwell-Chamber, oh, the red flags are out, red flags are out,
01:23so none of it matters, the race being stopped,
01:26and that's not a huge surprise, that was quite a big hit
01:29for Martin Whitehouse up at Druids Corner,
01:32and the marshals and medical crews will want to make absolutely sure that he's okay,
01:37but also there's a lot of debris and a broken car that will lead moving too,
01:41so unsurprising, really, that the red flags are coming out.
01:47What a shame, though, that that had to go that way,
01:51because it was a fairly lively start to the race,
01:54even at the back of the field there, not even the drivers who were affected by the reversed grid.
01:59That was just lap one close quarters racing that unfortunately led to, as I said,
02:04that tangling of wheels, and I think Ollie Hall has just pulled over
02:08to make sure that Martin Whitehouse is okay as well.
02:09That's nice to see, carries on his way now, back to the start-finish area.
02:16So, there's George Grant.
02:19Now, his car came out of that remarkably well.
02:21I'm not saying it's in showroom condition anymore,
02:23but it's not as badly damaged as I thought it might be,
02:26given that he had a fairly sightable impact as well with the barrier.
02:32So, the team, Rob Boston Racing Team, jumped to work.
02:38I can't actually see Rob there working on the car, which is rare, actually.
02:42Rob normally the first to get his hands dirty.
02:44He's probably got other cars in the outer paddock to be working on.
02:46That car has more damage to the rear, I think, than the front.
02:49There's a big gouge taken out of the left rear corner.
02:53Bodywork rubbing on the tire.
02:55There may be suspension damage as well.
02:56George Grant getting out of the car.
02:57That's a shame.
02:58George Grant, such an enthusiastic racer,
03:01and just shaking himself down there and giving himself a stretch,
03:07making sure everything's more or less as it should be.
03:09There's the damage to the left front corner as well.
03:12So, George Grant is out of the race.
03:15So, of course, is Martin Whitehouse.
03:17Yes, but the rest of them will line themselves upon the grid for a restart.
03:23And, of course, it means when we do get the restart,
03:24they'll be back in original grid order
03:26because we hadn't completed a lap of racing.
03:28So, it will be a...
03:31Jim Barrett back on pole position.
03:33Well, he'd slipped well down the order
03:35after the poor start they had.
03:39He was about sixth or seventh, I think.
03:41Team are going to work here on the George Grant car, in fairness.
03:45That's what it should look like.
03:46That's more Blackwell Chambers, his teammate,
03:48at Rob Boston Racing,
03:49running the other Clapham North liveried car.
03:52But, yeah, unfortunately, George Grant's car
03:55doesn't look like that anymore.
03:56It's looking fairly secondhand,
03:59but the team were going to work on it.
04:00This red flag period might give them an opportunity, of course,
04:03to get the car back out there
04:04because he wasn't the cause of the red...
04:05Well, he was, but he was running at the time of the red flag.
04:07So, if, in theory, they can get this patched up,
04:11they could get him back out on track.
04:15If in doubt, hit it with a big hammer.
04:18It's the first thing they teach you, I think.
04:20It's an aspiring mechanic.
04:24We're on a Boston Racing team
04:25with a lot that needs to be done to that car.
04:29I'd be very surprised if all it is is cosmetic damage.
04:32They've opened the boot now
04:33to get a look at the suspension at the back of the car.
04:35And, in fact, on the suspension, it's the...
04:42Well, to check the chassis, I suppose,
04:44and there you can see it is a bit twisted inside.
04:46Now, that doesn't necessarily mean the chassis is broken.
04:49It just means that the bodywork's come away
04:51from the rear of the car,
04:53but, yeah, it's not a pretty sight, is it, for George?
04:57He's got his helmet and gloves off,
04:59so he doesn't appear to think
05:00that he's going anywhere any time soon.
05:05So he was on the inside, I believe, wasn't he,
05:09of Martin Whitehouse as they tangled, I think.
05:15So his left rear perhaps making contact
05:18with the right front of Whitehouse's car.
05:23But I'm almost certain if we do get a chance
05:24to see that again, it will turn out
05:26to just be the most innocuous little bit of contact.
05:28It usually is.
05:28because they're the ones that caused
05:30the biggest accidents, it seems,
05:31and you look back at it and think,
05:33well, what a shame that had to...
05:35that had those ramifications,
05:38but both drives appear to be OK.
05:42There are no medics at the scene up at Druid,
05:45so I think everyone's OK.
05:46That means we can have a little look back then
05:47at what exactly happened.
05:50So keep an eye.
05:51The back of the pack,
05:52George Grant in the Clapham North Cup,
05:53well, he's already gone,
05:54and there's a third car actually involved in that.
05:57which I think was in the middle of the two of them.
06:02And I think that car was pincered almost
06:04by Grant and Whitehouse.
06:06Whitehouse.
