00:00What happened yesterday in Shivamogga where a student who was a student of CET was supposed to write an exam.
00:06He was asked to remove his genuva and allowed to enter.
00:11See, this incident actually is very unfortunate which has happened not only in Shivamogga but in Bidala.
00:19See, the Karnataka examination authority had given certain protocols as to what has to be followed to have a fair exam.
00:29So, everywhere it went on very smoothly except for two centers.
00:37We have, this time we have introduced face recognition also which is also identified some people trying to impersonate and come and write the exams which also we were able to see that they ran away.
00:50There is one issue, I have come to that later on.
00:54But this incident is, these people who were checking or frisking for any gadgets or even whatever protocols were followed.
01:05We are, never K.E.A. has mentioned about the sacred thread or you call januva, which Brahmin community and even Vaisha community and even Lingaites, they were with the Linga.
01:20This was not mentioned to be checked or removed to write the exam.
01:26These people who were frisking there, I think it is their, what do you call, high-end address or irresponsibility or some sort of a mental disorder I would rather call it.
01:43There was no need because we respect all the religions and their faiths and beliefs and this is something which is really going to hurt them very badly.
01:56And in Shumarga, it seems one information I got, it has not been confirmed, but they said that one guy had to remove his sacred thread and go into the examination hall.
02:10But in Bidar, the one guy's name is Kulkarni, it is a very different name, I forgot that name, I spoke to him.
02:24Suchyamrath Kulkarni, in fact I spoke to that boy.
02:32So, he was allowed to write exam the previous day, that is the day for yesterday, he has written Physics and Chemistry.
02:40Yesterday when he went to write his Maths exam, Mathematics exam, this 2-3 people have objected and then they were not allowed him to, he has refused to remove that and he has not written the exam.
02:54Later on, in the later part, his parents and everybody, they went and expressed their anger, then they were allowed him to write the Biology exam.
03:06So, this boy is aspiring to join for Engineering course.
03:11So, if at all you have to join for Engineering course, you need to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
03:17So, here now, as per information what we have got, without Mathematics it is difficult for him, all of us know about it.
03:27So, this is one issue and Brahman Mahasabha also, they have also complained to the DC Shumaga and we have sought a report.
03:37I came to know about this incident, my good friend Bhairati Suresh in the morning, Minister, he called me and said,
03:44what is this, something is coming in the paper because I want to play in badminton.
03:48So, later on, 8.30, 8.45, he called me and said, then immediately I tried to get some information about this.
03:55Till yesterday evening, I was not aware about it because I was only worried about the conduct of the exam,
04:00the fair conduct of the exam, which our officers said that absolutely it went off of an incident-free and it went on very well
04:08and absolutely there is no complaints as far as the syllabus or anything is concerned which we had last year.
04:15Right.
04:16So, I was happy that everything went on well but unfortunately, today morning I came to know.
04:20And immediately we have responded saying that we really value the sentiments of the Brahman Mahasabha
04:27and it is very valid that they have come out and opened and they have stood, they have expressed their anger
04:34and our government also is very prompt in responding to the situation and we also value their sentiments.
04:45not that we value every religion sentiments, not that it is only one religion or anything, we value everybody's sentiments.
04:54And keeping this in mind, I sought a report from the deputy commissioners of both the districts.
04:59In fact, I informed our secretary to get the report by tomorrow evening itself to take necessary action
05:06against the erred officers, whoever might be, when they were fisking the students, this is one aspect.
05:13And as far as the student is concerned, I have spoken to him and I asked him what all happened
05:21and he explained to me how it happened and what all happened.
05:24And I also inquired him, inquired from him that what course he would like to join
05:30and he expressed that engineering is what is one option, what is part.
05:34I think if he has to join for engineering then he has to have written the maths paper.
05:39So we are also, once we get the report from the DC as to what exactly happened, then I think we will take a view on what has to be done for the student's future.
05:52Because this is first of its kind, never such incident has happened.
05:56There are incidents which have happened where in various other exams, where the exams are redone and all these things.
06:02This is the case of one student, okay, that is one aspect.
06:06So I think we are at it and we have responded immediately and we are not going to tolerate such misbehaviors or I would rather say whether he was a maniac or something like that.
06:23So I think we are not going to accept this and we are going to take serious action.
