Description: Bengaluru (Karnataka), April 19, 2025 (ANI): An incident came across in which students were reportedly made to remove their sacred thread named Janeu at Karnataka CET exam centre. Reacting on the incident, President of Akhil Karnataka Brahmin Mahasabha, Raghunath said, "The government should take strict action against those who have removed the sacred thread of students. So this is an attack on the Brahmin community and this should not happen because Brahmins also have equal status as per the Constitution of India and Brahmins should not be targeted. So we will meet the Chief Minister and submit a memorandum stating that Brahmins should also be respected and Brahmins should also get the necessary protection..."

00:00In the last few days, students are facing CET exams.
00:15In the last few days, in the state of Karnataka, students are writing CET exams to undergo their future professional college education.
00:30And in this process, it has been found that in few districts, mainly in Shumaga and in Bidar, and in one taluk, Tirthalli,
00:41the authorities conducting the CET examinations have indulged in removing the sacred threat owned by the Brahmin students.
00:53So, therefore, the students have protested about this particular action, and morefully, one of the students has held the dignity of the community more important,
01:08and has walked out even without writing the examination in protest against the conduct of the authorities.
01:16And in particular, few students were forced to remove the sacred threat, and the sacred threat was cut by the security people.
01:25Therefore, in this connection, the district Brahmin community authorities, our taluk presidents and district presidents,
01:34and their leaders have indulged in conducting protests throughout the state, and this has developed into a very serious controversy.
01:41The state of Karnataka has not taken the respective action against the people who have made error in judgment in this particular matter.
01:52The state authorities cannot remain silent, because it is not just a question of writing exams,
01:58it is a question of even respecting the students when they come with particular preparation with concentration to write the examination.
02:09At that time, they should not be disturbed. The students' concentration should not be disturbed.
02:14So, therefore, removing the sacred threat and trying to disturb the mind of the students itself is very wrong, number one.
02:20Number two, hurting the sentiments of the community is also equally very wrong.
02:25And therefore, the Brahmin community stands united in the state of Karnataka and is wanting to protest against the action taken by the Karnataka State Examination Authority.
02:38And therefore, we all have formed a team to see to it that we protest.
02:43We meet the chief minister shortly, and we give a complaint in this regard,
02:46and we demand immediate action in suspension of those officials.
02:51And we are also asking these people to file the state of Karnataka authorities to file necessary police complaint.
03:01And some of our people have also filed police complaint.
03:04And we request the state authorities to take action against these people,
03:07because this should not further involve or evolve into a different sort of a controversy.
03:16We don't want to create controversy, because Brahmins, on the whole, are very soft and peaceful, loving natured people.
03:25And this advantage should not be taken by others to suppress the Brahmin community.
03:30Therefore, we demand the state government to take necessary action against the people who have made error in this particular aspect.
03:40And we also commend the student who has walked out of the examination hall holding the dignity of our Brahmin community.
03:51And therefore, we have taken a decision, if he comes in flying colors in the CAT examination, because he hails from a poor class,
03:59we will be in a position to take care of his students' education expenses. Thank you.
04:03Do you think that this action was deliberate, because it happened only in selective places like Sumoga and Bigger?
04:10See, it looks obviously as selective, because I don't know whether it has triggered in many other districts.
04:20Only what is reported, we are now aware of. But it looks as if it is selective.
04:25But the state government says that no such instruction was given. If somebody has done that action will be taken yesterday,
04:32and an FIR has been filed by the Brahmin Samajah also, could a Home Minister also show that action will be taken?
04:39We have faith and belief in the state government that they will definitely take necessary action in this matter,
04:46and we are awaiting their quick response in this. Thank you.
