00:50Rupert, Rupert the Bell, everyone come and join.
00:57In all a peace game.
01:04It's been a beautiful hot day, and Rupert, Podgie, Bill and Edward are going to spend the night camping on the common.
01:12Hey, where are you going? asks Rosalie, as she and Margot hurry up the garden path.
01:20Oh, camping, she cries, spotting the tent.
01:25You lucky thing.
01:26Let's go too, says Margot excitedly.
01:30I've got a tent.
01:32Well, you pop home and ask, suggests Mr. Bear.
01:35And then, I'll give you all a hand setting up camp.
01:38With Mr. Bear's help, the two tents are soon safely up, and Rupert and his friends comfortably settled in one tent, and Rosalie and Margot in the other.
01:50There, says Mr. Bear.
01:52Good night.
01:54Sleep tight.
01:55And pleasant dreams.
01:57Good night.
01:58Good night.
01:58Good night.
01:59It's a beautiful night, and the moon shines brightly down on the sleeping common.
02:10Oh, what's that?
02:14It seems to be coming from behind us.
02:18They turn and see there before them a knight in shining armor.
02:24What?
02:26Who's that?
02:27Friend or foe?
02:28Oh, and the knight swings round, startled.
02:31Friend, friend, says Rupert hastily.
02:34Ah, good evening to you, young sirs.
02:37It's a lovely night for dragons, isn't it?
02:40Oh?
02:41Rupert's astonished.
02:43Just then, there's a whirring noise made by a pair of giant wings.
02:50What's that?
02:51Asks Bill nervously.
02:53Oh, it's a dragon.
02:54Look, gasps Edward.
02:56Help, help, cries the knight.
02:59There's a dragon after me.
03:01Oh, it's only George's mother.
03:04Rupert is relieved.
03:05No, no, no, shoo, go away, he shouts, waving his arms, and the dragon, startled, flies quickly away.
03:17There, you see, there was nothing to worry about.
03:26Oh, oh, wasn't there?
03:28Says the knight, sheepishly crawling out of the tent.
03:31Knights aren't supposed to be scared of dragons?
03:34He complains crossly.
03:35You're supposed to fight them, and you hurt me with your armor, too, he adds, rubbing his poor nose.
03:42I'm sorry, says the knight.
03:44I'm really very sorry, but I'm frightened of dragons, and unless I fight a dragon, I shall never, never win my silver spurs and become a brave, fearless knight.
03:56Oh, dear, what shall I do?
04:01Both Margot and Rosalie are awake now, and hurry across to see what's happening.
04:05Oh, you poor thing, says Margot sympathetically.
04:09Please don't cry.
04:11Look, here's a hanky.
04:14And the knight sorrowfully wipes his eyes.
04:17Can't we help him, Rupert?
04:19Asks Rosalie.
04:20Well, I know.
04:24We'll ask Willy Wisp.
04:25Willy!
04:27And what can I do for you on this beautiful midsummer night?
04:31Cries Willy cheerfully.
04:33Oh, gasps Rupert.
04:35So that's it.
04:36Of course, anything can happen on midsummer's night.
04:40And it has, adds Bill, pointing to the sorrowful knight.
04:45Oh, dear me.
04:46And what's the matter with you, me boy-o?
04:48Asks Willy.
04:49It's dragons, they've frightened me, stutters the knight.
04:54And little bears like that can just scare them away, he adds indignantly, pointing at Rupert.
05:00It's not fair.
05:02Mmm, I see.
05:04Willy beckons to Rupert.
05:06Can you go and fetch George, he whispers.
05:09Rupert's worried.
05:10But the knight might hurt him.
05:12Oh, no, he won't.
05:13I'll see to that, Willy promises.
05:15I've an idea.
05:16Rupert flies off to fetch George, while the others get ready for the fight.
05:23Please be my lady, the knight asks Margot.
05:27And I'll be your champion.
05:29And he hands her his gauntlet.
05:31What's happening?
05:49What's happening?
05:51Asks Raggedy, hurrying up excitedly.
05:53I was woken up by lots of clinking and planking and oh-ah, he adds, frightened as he catches sight of the knight.
06:00We're going to have a dragon fight.
06:02There's Rupert, cries Edward, pointing up at the chariot overhead.
06:07Oh, good.
06:08Kong Ping's brought George, says Bill excitedly.
06:12Oh, dear dragon, cries the frightened knight.
06:16He shakes and shivers, which makes his armor clink and plank more than ever.
06:20Now you must be brave, says Margot firmly.
06:23For my sake, she adds, holding up the gauntlet he gave her.
06:27Now, when I say go, you let George off the lead, Willie explains to Kong Ping.
06:34And don't worry, he whispers.
06:37Watch.
06:38And the knight's sword suddenly turns into a celery stick.
06:43Oh, that's all right.
06:45It only tickle, giggles Kong Ping, as he holds George ready.
06:50Won't the knight be more frightened now, whispers Pudgy.
06:53I don't think he can see much, chuckles Edward.
06:56He's got his visor down.
06:59Ready, steady, go, shouts Willie.
07:04Kong Ping lets go of George's lead, and the little dragon runs towards the knight,
07:08wondering what the strange creature can be.
07:10He's not met a knight before.
07:13Now be brave, Margot shouts excitedly.
07:16And Raggety madly waves his football rattle.
07:20The knight moves slowly forward, waving his most trusty sword.
07:25While George billows smoke so thick, and laughs and laughs at the celery stick.
07:30Oh, look, it's tickling him, cries Rupert with a grin.
07:37And how they laugh at the sight, for there never has been such a fight.
07:42Raggety gaily waves his rattle, encouraging them in their battle.
07:45Come on, George, how they shout.
07:49Come on, sir knight, and fight it out.
07:52At last, poor George can laugh no more, for he has never laughed so much before.
07:58Exhausted on the ground he lies.
08:01And the knight is the winner, Willie cries.
08:05Everyone agrees, even George.
08:09Well, good night, everyone, chuckles Pong Ping at last.
08:13But I must take George home now.
08:16Thank you, little dragon, says the knight, patting George gratefully on the head.
08:21That was a great fight.
08:23Why, he adds delightedly, I'm not frightened of dragons anymore.
08:28No, you're a true knight at last, declares Margot, returning his gauntlet.
08:35Oh, thank you, says the knight.
08:39Just a minute, shouts Willie.
08:41Watch.
08:45Oh, my silver spurs, cries the knight delightedly.
08:51Fare you well.
08:52And he proudly strides away, gaily clinking his silver spurs.
08:58Oh, I'm so sleepy, yawns Edward, and they all crawl back into their tents.
09:05Good night, Willie, sighs Rupert sleepily.
09:09Bye-bye.
09:10Sleep well, says Willie.
09:12And he's gone.
09:15In a few moments, the moon shines down on a peaceful sleeping camp.
09:21Shhh.
09:22Shhh.
09:22Shhh.
09:25Shhh.
09:26Shhh.
09:26What a funny dream, says Mrs. Bear, as she gives them all breakfast the following morning.
09:36And you all dreamt it, too.
09:38How strange.
09:40I wish I'd seen the knight with a celery stick sword, chuckles Mr. Bear.
09:45Good morning, Mr. Bear.
09:46I've come to make a complaint.
09:48It's Mr. Grimnasty, who's in a worse temper than usual.
09:52Rupert and his friends were making a terrible noise last night, he grumbles crossly.
09:57Kept me awake for hours, and they covered the common with litter, too, he adds, holding
10:02up two medieval pointed hats.
10:05Why?
10:06Willie must have left them for us, cries Margot delightedly.
10:10Ah!
10:11So it wasn't a dream after all, gasps Mrs. Bear.
10:16Well, I never.
10:17Rupert, Rupert, the bell, everyone's in his name.
10:39Rupert, Rupert, the bell, everyone's come and joined.
10:45Rupert, Rupert, Rupert, the bell, everyone's come and joined in all of his games.
10:59Rupert.
