00:00Hey friends, I'm Stacey and this is Gorgeously Aging and today we're going to do a full face

00:04of drugstore makeup using only Maybelline makeup products. I don't think I have ever

00:09done exclusively Maybelline makeup. I've been testing these products the last couple of weeks

00:14and there are definitely some really good products here. Many of these are just as good

00:19as high-end. I'm also going to share a few tips for making makeup look good on mature skin.

00:24So if you love beautiful makeup on a budget, keep on watching.

00:30Okay, so I have started with my full skincare routine and I always end my skincare routine

00:38with a good SPF. I never rely just on my makeup for SPF. So many foundations and tinted moisturizers

00:46will have some SPF, but you're not getting enough coverage with the amount that you put on your face.

00:52So today I used the CeraVe Tinted Hydrating Mineral Sunscreen. This is SPF 30. I really do like this.

01:00I do not like the non-tinted version of this. The consistency is different. So if you want a good

01:06drugstore sunscreen, this one is one to try. It's great for normal to dry skin. If you have boilier

01:13skin, you may not like this. It is very hydrating. Relatively new to Maybelline are these lifter sticks

01:18and these are really handy. I actually just went to Tahoe. My daughter had a spring or a series.

01:24She's a ski racer and I took this whole line of products with me. I found them to be really easy

01:29to use on the go, easy to travel with. So I'm going to share those with you now. I especially

01:34like the bronzer stick, but both the bronzer stick and the foundation stick are very nice.

01:40So because I have the tinted sunscreen on, I'm not going to use a lot of the foundation stick. I'm

01:45going to use that more for areas that I maybe need a little more coverage. I'm going to start with

01:50the contour or bronzing stick and I am just going to do my normal contouring of the cheekbones to give

01:58a little more lifted appearance to the cheeks and just warm up the skin and give it some dimension.

02:05I do like to go around my hairline because I do have a big forehead and also down the jawline.

02:12This really helps the aging jaw and a little bit here down my neck or under my chin, I should say.

02:24And that especially helps if you have loose skin or a double chin underneath the chin line. So

02:30sticking with the drugstore theme, I'm going to use my trusted Sonia Kashuk brushes. I really think these

02:35are a good value for the drugstore. They come in kits, so you don't have to buy them individually,

02:40which is what I usually do. And I like both the complexion and the eye shadow brushes from Sonia

02:46Kashuk. So I'm going to use the stippling foundation brush and just go in and lightly stipple this into

02:53my skin. This is a step I almost never skip because I feel like the face looks really flat and lacks

03:00dimension without some kind of contouring, especially as we age. Somebody recently made kind of a backhanded

03:07comment on one of my posts that I have good makeup and then I use these crappy Sonia Kashuk brushes

03:13from the drugstore and they are actually nice brushes. Like I've had some more expensive brushes

03:17that don't perform as well and the bristles don't hold up as well. I've had these for years and they're

03:22still going strong. Now I do have some nice expensive brushes, which I do love, but when you're on a budget

03:28or you don't want to spend for name brand, I think these can do just as well. Having said that,

03:34I did just buy some refer brushes, which I've wanted to buy for a long time and just haven't

03:38pulled the trigger. So I finally did. So I'll be showing you guys those brushes soon in another

03:43makeup video using high-end makeup. So I'm going to take just a little bit of this and run it down

03:48my nose. Just a little extra step. I don't always do nose contouring, but I do like it when I do.

03:54I feel like this product blends in nicely and the shade of this color, I'll list all the shades down

04:00in the description box below. So if you're curious, you can check that out. But the shade of this one

04:05isn't too orangey, which I don't like in a bronzer when the bronzer is too orangey pigmented.

04:13I like to use my fingers for the nose contour and just kind of come down the nose and then pull it

04:18downward. Now I'm going to take the foundation stick and I'm just going to go up the bridge of

04:24my nose, a little bit on the tip there. You want to keep that as straight as possible. I'm just going

04:30to do some through my forehead, a little bit here and here, around my mouth just a bit, and then right

04:40here under my eye, kind of not too close to the under eye, but kind of upper cheek area.

04:46I'm going to use that same stifling brush. I just like to kind of wipe it on the palm of my hand. I keep

04:50some old dark colored hand towels at home for that purpose. I'm at my office right now, so I don't

04:55have them here. But if you have like old bath towels that you don't use anymore, have gotten

05:00discolored, cut them up into small rags. That's great for keeping where you do your makeup. So I'm

05:05just going to stipple this in. I think both of these are really nice, but I actually really prefer

05:10the bronzer. The formula for the foundation, I like it for quick touch-ups or cover, but it's not

05:16my absolute favorite. So this is the Mameline Instant Age Rewind Magic Eraser or Eraser Corrector,

05:23and this one is in the color 160. I used to be absolutely in love with this, and then I kind

05:28of moved on to some other things. But I've come back to this, and I'm just going to put a little

05:33bit here in the inner corner and outer corner of my eye, and I'm just going to use my finger. I kind

05:40of like the warmth of my finger and just the flexibility of using my fingers for under the eye. I don't

05:46know. It's just something I've been doing lately. It's not that I don't like concealer brushes.

05:51I've just been enjoying using my fingers underneath the eyes lately. I'm going to bring a little bit

05:55of that on the upper eyelid as a eyeshadow primer, and this will just brighten and remove the darkness

06:01from under the eyes. I probably was a little heavy-handed. You don't need to use really all that

06:06much. I like it for the inside of the eye and then just kind of lifting the outer corner. I'm going to

06:12take a sponge here. This is a Real Techniques sponge. It's kind of big, but I just want to make

06:17sure I don't have excess concealer under my eye. So I'm just going to pat that in.

06:22The nice thing about this concealer corrector is that you don't need a lot of powder to set down.

06:28It does set down pretty well on its own. A little tiny bit of powder can help if you have oily under

06:34eyes or if you really like to have a matte under eye, but this sets down kind of natural to slightly

06:40matte. It's not overly hydrating, but it isn't really drying. I do like this for brightening

06:46and correcting, and I think it's a really good drugstore option. If your under eyes are super,

06:51super dry or textured under your eyes, you may not like this or just use the tiniest amount.

06:57Before I move on to powder, I want to show you guys something that I'm kind of shocked at.

07:01When I saw this in the store the first time, I was like, no way am I going to like this. It looks

07:06so neon orange. It's actually really beautiful on the cheeks. So I'm just going to put one dot

07:13on the higher part of my cheek and another Sonia Kashuk brush, and I'm just going to

07:19go ahead and work that in. It blends in nicely and you can see it's just a beautiful

07:23coral flush. It's very sheer, kind of like a watercolor. This is the wide contour brush,

07:28but I've actually been using it for blush lately. So you could use it for contouring or for blush,

07:34but it just makes quick work of blending it in. So you can see how pretty that is. It just gives a

07:39really nice peachy flush to the cheeks. When I first dabbed it on the very first time, I was like,

07:44oh no, this is not going to work because it was such a neon color, but it's actually really pretty.

07:50I would actually say this is probably one of my biggest surprises of everything I purchased. And then

07:55I also want to show you the new brow product because it might be my new favorite drugstore brow

08:01product. Let's first just do a little bit of spot powdering and I'm going to use the Maybelline

08:06Fit Me. This is the matte and poreless. Now I don't usually love a matte look, but I do like to mattify

08:12or powder down the T-zone. So I'm going to use the Sonia Kashuk. This is the tapered powder brush and

08:18just a few little taps and get my chin. I like to just hit right through here, through the jawline,

08:24the nose. I also like to get kind of between the brows here. I usually leave the tops of my cheeks

08:33a little glowy, but that's just personal preference. I'm actually not going to powder underneath my eyes.

08:39If I were to powder under my eyes, sometimes they take a lightly dampened sponge and just ever so

08:44slightly go under the eyes. I definitely don't like my under eyes to look dry or powdery. So I picked up

08:50two different colors and I purchased all this myself, you guys. This is the Maybelline Super Fluff

08:56Brow Mousse and it's like a volumizing brow gel. Let me show you. I'm going to use the lighter color.

09:02So this one is soft brown and then I have the medium brown. So I'm going to use the soft brown,

09:09but let me swatch it so you can see what it looks like. So that is the color. I think this would

09:15actually be good for blondes as well. I've been bouncing back and forth between the soft

09:20brown and the medium brown. And I think when I have more makeup on, I like the medium brown.

09:24When I have less makeup on, I like the soft brown. But let me just show you here. I first kind of like

09:30to go upward and then against the hairs and then just kind of build it up a little bit.

09:41And depending on your preference, you can go back in for another dip and do another coat.

09:45I do sometimes like to use the Maybelline Brow Pencil. I'll show you the one I have here because

09:52I've been enjoying it just for a little extra definition. So you can just see the difference

09:57between these two and that was pretty quick and easy. It does give the brow some nice fullness

10:03and thickness and my brows are so sparse that it's really helpful. So I'm just going to go in quick and

10:08do this other brow. So that's the super fluff, two coats on each eyebrow with no brow pencil.

10:15So here we have the Maybelline Express Brow. Again, you guys, I didn't get these sent to me.

10:20Like I purchased everything myself just because actually I went in just for this. And then I was

10:25like, this would be a good opportunity to do a full Maybelline look. And I also saw that they had these.

10:31So I picked up the whole line of products. Now I do purchase a lot, mostly because I want to be

10:37100% honest in my reviews. This is what I do full time for living makeup reviews and beauty related

10:43content, skincare content. So some of this is a business expense for me, but I always want to give

10:48you guys my most honest reviews. And sometimes when things are sent, you feel obligated or you're

10:54actually bound by contract to say certain things that I don't want to do that. I will take a free

11:00sample from people who allow me to be honest and I don't have to sign a contract and say certain

11:05things. But that's why I spend my own money on most of the products I show you. So this one's

11:11interesting, this brow pencil, because it doesn't have a spoolie end. It has a pencil end and it has

11:17the powder end that's just on a sponge tip. So I wasn't sure how I felt about that, but it does make

11:23quick work if you like a powder brow or if you lack creativity or artistry or if you're a little

11:30shaky with a pencil. I like the pencil for kind of going underneath and just making that lower part

11:36of my brow a little sharper and defined because I have such few natural brow hairs. So sometimes just

11:44a little bit of extra definition with the pencil is enough. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about

11:51that sponge tip compared to a spoolie because I am a spoolie girl for brushing in the pencil product,

11:58but I think this brush tip will come in handy for the right person and I don't dislike it. I'm still

12:05just questioning how I feel about not having a spoolie. But the product itself works well for just

12:12filling in sparseness. It doesn't give the brow hairs that thickness like the super fluff does, but it

12:19does make it really quick and easy just to give the brows a little shape and pigmentation. Overall I

12:25think for a drugstore brow pencil I like it. I do think I miss the spoolie a little bit, but the actual

12:31brow pencil texture and color is really nice. I really do love these Maybelline. These are the City

12:38Mini palettes and I like the size especially for travel. I'm on a small palette kick lately. I have a

12:44bunch of large palettes, but I've been gravitating to these smaller palettes more lately, which I like

12:50for so many reasons. I think they fit in your drawer better. I think they're easy to travel or

12:54travel with and I feel like you have less waste than you do with those really huge palettes. So

13:00I'm going to take a large Sonia Kashuk fluffy brush and I'm going to start with this color and just lay

13:05down kind of a base here. I feel like the rest of the colors go on more nicely when you have a little bit

13:12of a base. Then I'm going to go into this color here, just a light tap, and that's what the color

13:21looks like. It's really nicely pigmented actually. I'm just going to build up a little bit in that

13:28upper outer crease, so kind of above where my lid naturally closes. I have very deep set eyes, so

13:36this provides me some lift and just kind of minimizes how deep my eyes are. So I'm just going to bring

13:43that up and then what's left I'm just going to swipe on that lower eyelid and then same thing.

13:49I'm just going to dab and then tap it off and just create a little bit of dimension or contour for the

13:57eye. This technique actually works really well if you have hooded eyes as well. I'm going to go into that

14:03same color with a Sonia Kashuk angled brush and if you have a brush with a spoolie and you have this

14:10brow pencil then you don't have to worry about not having a spoolie. So I do have plenty of spoolies

14:15around. I'm just saying if you love a spoolie you may not like that sponge end, although I think it

14:20makes it really easy to give your brows just some quick color. So again I'm just going to dip in here,

14:24pat that off, and give my lower lash line just a little definition. I'm just going to repeat that

14:36making sure to dab it off good so it's not messing up your lower concealer. And then I'm going to take

14:42a q-tip and go into this light shade here, dab that off, and just brighten up the inner corner.

14:48And I have the Maybelline Sky High mascara. This is the waterproof. Some people love waterproof,

14:55some people hate it. My daughters swear by it and they think that their lashes stay curled better

14:59with it. I do have lashes on today, but I like to go over them with a little bit of mascara.

15:05This is definitely, has been my favorite drugstore mascara for years. Even when I wear natural lashes,

15:11it just separates and lifts them so well. And my daughters, both who have great eyelashes,

15:17both love this mascara in the waterproof. My sister and my niece like this in just the

15:23non-waterproof version. It's really just personal preference. I can't wait to show you guys this

15:27lip combo that I have from Maybelline. It is so pretty. So I'm going to use the Maybelline Tattoo

15:32Studio Black Liner and just do a smidge of tight lining. This just helps to define the upper lash line.

15:41And in my case, it helps kind of hide the lash band from the lashes I have on.

15:47So when you have lashes on, I kind of like just to do the pressing so it doesn't

15:51interrupt the lash band bond with the glue. And sometimes for people, the pressing technique is

15:58actually easier than going back and forth. I'm going to take a little bit of this

16:01black liner onto this angled brush, tap it on my hand a few times, and just get the corner here

16:07of my lower lash line.

16:12Just for some more definition. And also I have lashes like right in the center, but I really don't

16:17have much for natural lashes over here. I think this one actually really competes with a lot of

16:22the high-end waterproof long stay eyeliners. Okay, we have lips. I love this lip combo.

16:29If you're not big on having lipstick and lip gloss like much on your lips, just the lip gloss alone

16:35is beautiful. This one's in the color 004 Silk. This is such a pretty hydrating formula.

16:42That's the swatch of it. So pretty for spring. Not too bright. It's kind of a browny pink with

16:48more on the pink side, but I really do like the Maybelline Superstay ink crayon. I'll list the

16:55color down below because I can't see it. So I'll have to break out some reading glasses or magnifying

17:00glass. You can fill in the whole lip with this or do a liner. It goes on easy. It's not drying. I think

17:11it's great for mature lips because you can give it that definition that we lose as we age.

17:18I like to define the lips and then lightly bring it into the body of the lip.

17:29I usually leave the center of my lips without this on it.

17:33Really just depends on the day. And then put just a little bit of this on.

17:40I think this is such a pretty spring look. It's got that pink look, but it's not overly pinky. Maybe

17:46it's just me, but as I've gotten older, I definitely like more muted tones and not bright tones. So I

17:51think this is giving spring vibes, but more toned down. The formula of this lifter gloss reminds me

17:58a lot of the Fenty gloss balm. It's not sticky. It's hydrating. It maintains its gloss really well.

18:04It stays in the lips well. I just really like this. I think it's really budget friendly for a high-end lip

18:10gloss-like product. Now, last but not least, I usually set down my makeup with an SPF spray.

18:16Not as much for the setting of the makeup, but for the extra SPF protection. You really can't

18:20put on too much sunscreen, especially as we're aging, to really fight off that sun damage.

18:26So this one is the Naked Sundays SPF 50. This is in the travel size. There is a larger size, which I have.

18:34This one happens to be at my office. The larger size is at home. Another drugstore option that I like

18:39is the e.l.f. This is 45, where this is 50, and I like the smell of the Naked Sundays version better.

18:47I just think it's a better setting spray, actually, but both are good. I like the fine mist on this one,

18:54and I always make sure I get my neck as well, or any part that's showing. If I have a v-neck,

19:00I come down farther with the spray and with my actual sunscreen and my makeup routine. It makes

19:04such a difference, so if you're not using enough SPF, start now, because it's probably the biggest

19:10thing you can do to protect your skin. All right, so here is the finished look, you guys. I really

19:15like this Maybelline collection. I think you can get a high-end look on a drugstore price point.

19:21So budget-friendly, and a few standouts are the Lifter Gloss. I like the Lifter Stick, especially the

19:28Bronzer. And of course, I love the Maybelline Sky High Mascara. And a big surprise to me was the

19:34Sun Kiss Blush, because it looks like a highlighter pen in orange, but it looks so pretty on the cheeks.

19:40And I have to say, I'm really obsessed with these Super Fluff Brow Mousse Brow Gel. They really do

19:47make the brow hairs look like you have more hair. For me, I have such thin, sparse, almost non-existent

19:55eyebrow hairs. It makes a tremendous difference. I have been using more of the light brown, which

20:00is what I have on today. But if I want a more dramatic look, the medium brown is really nice

20:05as well. And of course, these Maybelline City Mini Palettes, great size. I would say these are

20:12slightly more powdery than some high-end brands that have that creamier formula. It's dry but creamy,

20:20if that makes sense. There can be some fallout if you're not careful with these, but not bad. And

20:26they blend in well, and I think you can create a really beautiful eyeshadow look with these palettes.
