00:03Carom is not just a game. It's an art where you have to combine precision with a strategy,

00:09where every single flick of your finger can change the total course of the game.

00:13Let's take our seats at the board to learn how it works.

00:17Components of the carom First, we'll check the components of the carom.

00:22There is one standard carom board, which is square in shape with four pockets at the corners.

00:27There are 18 round and flat coins. Nine coins are black in color,

00:32while the other nine are white. There is one red coin, and we call it queen.

00:37Then there is a striker that strikes these coins. The striker is a large and heavy coin.

00:42It has an android space that makes it different from other coins.

00:46Players Two players or two teams are required

00:50to play carom. Either you can team up or can choose an opponent for yourself.

00:55Take turns with your opponent, flicking the striker from within the base of the board.

00:59The base is the small circle in the middle at each end of the carom board.

01:09First of all, set up the carom board that is accessible to every player.

01:13Now arrange the coins in the center of the board. There is a specific pattern to arrange these coins.

01:19Arrange them in a circle with alternative colors, where all coins along with the red coin are

01:24arranged in the center of the board. Place the striker at different angles to hit the coins.

01:29Your ultimate goal is to sink all the coins on your side into the pockets of the board.

01:34Make sure to pocket all your coins to win the game.

01:38How to take a shot

01:40Flick the striker with your index or middle finger. The key is precision and aiming for the coins

01:45strategically. The red coin which is called the queen. Pocket the queen before your opponent does

01:51that. After sinking, cover it with another coin or otherwise, you might lose it. The first player

01:57to finish all their coins and legally cover the queen is declared the winner. Flick, aim and win.
