00:00What's up guys? I'm Dawson from Almost Monday and we are checking out my gear.
00:15So I am rolling very standard Camper. I'm actually kind of just rolling the same setup as Cole.
00:24Cole is kind of the smart one and he helps me figure it out because it feels sometimes like a spaceship.
00:32This thing is kind of confusing. But they have an app now which has made it a lot easier.
00:37I think a Fender Twin, I believe. Yeah, so I got the Fender Twin.
00:44Yeah, I've been playing this thing since day one of Almost Monday and I love it.
00:50You don't have to lug around an amp which is really nice.
00:54But yeah, I mean obviously the amp vibe is, it's got that, you can feel your guitar.
01:01So, you know, we've got that in here.
01:03I feel bad, I'm just kind of like Cole's student. He is like the brain on it all.
01:10I'm definitely a singer. I'm a singer that's playing guitar. I'm not a guitar player. I'm a guitar player that's singing.
01:20So, Cole really helps me out on getting all of the tones right and everything.
01:25So, I mean, what can I say? Shout out to Cole. Shout out to the guitar player of Almost Monday.
01:31And then my guitars, this thing is actually Luke's guitar and it is Nash guitars.
01:39It's a custom Tele and Luke's had it forever. It's such a sick guitar.
01:45And a little fun fact about it is our friend, shout out Kirk Henson back home, San Diego, Henson & Sons, shout out.
01:53He has an auto body shop and Luke took this back when we were kids and got like a custom spray with it.
02:01So, it's kind of a nice blue. I feel like you don't really see a blue like that that much on the guitars.
02:06So, shout out Kirk Henson, Henson & Sons.
02:08Yeah, I typically am just sticking on the bridge pickup.
02:12Usually stay there, just a little bit meatier sound. Volume and tone always full volume, full tone all the way up.
02:21I mean, really simple rig for me, man.
02:25I think I'm playing Elixir's, Elixir's 10 gauge. That seems like the sweet spot.
02:32I don't really break a lot of strings on this guitar.
02:35This one is actually, I'm sure Cole gave you a rundown of this one, but this is my guitar.
02:40So, we're kind of doing a little switch on this tour because he misplaced his other Thunder, his Telecaster Deluxe.
02:48But this one's mine, and I just have something with this Tele. It's just a standard Tele.
02:54I just break strings on that one so much, but for some reason on this one, I can go basically like an entire tour without changing a string.
03:04Knock on wood. Hopefully I don't break it tonight. Just standard tuning. E-A-D-G-B-E.
03:11The backup. I have a lot to say about this backup. I've never played it.
03:17Tonight, Cole made that switch up because he wanted to have, like I just said, I never break strings and he breaks a lot of strings.
03:24So, he thought we'd just make the switch. So, this is my first night on the job with this backup.
03:30So, that was sarcasm. I don't have a lot to say about the Strat. But it's beautiful. I like the yellow. Looks good.
03:40For some reason, I feel like tonight is going to be the night where I break the string and have to try it out, but we'll see.
03:46I am rocking AKG, wireless setup. First tour, well not first tour, but first tour, a first headline tour running wireless, which is new for me.
03:56I typically like being in. I like being in with the 58, but we were just in Europe and I was doing that setup a lot.
04:08And I tend to run around a lot. And I always, always unplug stuff and it ends up being like the biggest disaster.
04:18So, Robbie, sweet Robbie, thought it'd be a good idea this time around to just free me up.
04:24Which has been nice, but I do miss, I like the look and feel of having the XLR.
04:31But, hey, less problems, right, Robbie? Yes. Okay. Yeah, picks. I'm running the Jazz 3s, which Cole put me onto.
04:42I was rocking a Tim Dunlop, just kind of standard purple pick, but these, Cole kind of got me on these.
04:50I love, I just really like with these guys, they're a little bit smaller so you can be really accurate.
04:55I just really like that. So, Cole, again, shout out for just getting me dialed with all my guitar needs.
05:02But you know what? This is hard hitting journalism, so we're going to make sure we know.
05:06Jazz 3, 1.3, well, I mean, yeah, okay, so the Jazz 3 is the 1.38.
05:14We were just in Europe on a tour, and the night of our show in London, or the night our album came out was in London,
05:24and we were kind of celebrating, our producer came all the way out to London, and I was rocking some really nice ultimate ear,
05:33like really good molds, and we were having a good time right before the show, celebrating the album coming out,
05:39and I literally squashed them, and they're, I mean, the people that know those aren't cheap, the custom molds.
05:45And so right now I'm rocking literally like $40, like, what are they, Rafa?
05:52What are the, what are the Amazon generic ears, and I've been rocking them now for like months, and I kind of like them.
05:59But I missed the ultimate ears, I gotta go get them fixed, but it's literally completely smashed.
06:05It's, it doesn't exist anymore.
06:07Our album, Dive, is out now, we just released Dive Deluxe, which is cool.
06:12And yeah, we're on tour right now, we are currently in Chicago, and we're heading to Detroit.
06:17We're heading all over, we're going back to Europe, and the UK, so check us out.
