00:05on the game first? I thought we were brilliant, to be fair. From the word goal, we were brilliant.
00:11We knew we would get chances if we pressed high, which we did. We got the press right
00:15and they turned the ball over a lot due to our press and we got chances from it. So I
00:20thought the lads were brilliant today. We spoke to the manager about how he instils
00:24belief into the squad. Obviously we put in a great performance away at the league champions
00:28on Good Friday and then coming on Easter Monday and all of a sudden we're tuning up within the first ten minutes.
00:32What were the sort of messages that he gave to the squad before the game? Just belief.
00:35He just keeps telling us to belief because we're a very, very good team. I don't think we should be where we are.
00:40I think that does us injustice to how actually good we are and how actually good we can be
00:44when we all play on the same wavelength as you've probably seen throughout the season.
00:49Obviously you've seen today, seen last week as well against Birmingham. Come away with a point.
00:54I probably should have scored in that game. Probably could have came away with three points.
00:57But we put it right today and got two and come away with three points today.
01:01How much do you have to use what you just said there as belief for the last two games?
01:06Because you're right and I'm sure you've had it with past colleagues that you've seen around the grounds this year.
01:12We come away from a lot of games and people say to us, how are you where you are in the league?
01:16You're a far better team from that. So as much as that is frustrating, how much have you got to channel that into a bit of encouragement and fire in these last two games?
01:24Again, we've got two finals coming up.
01:27And like I said, we know how good we can be when we're all on the same wavelength.
01:31So we just need to go out there and put the performances in and be on the same wavelength and show everybody how good we can be and the results should follow.
01:39Obviously for yourself, another two goals takes your, I can't remember, I think it's eight now, isn't it?
01:47It's obviously good for you going into the final two games, you know, you've got a chance to hit double figures in the league, which would obviously be great.
01:54And as you say, how much was that Birmingham chance playing in the back of your mind today? Was it at all? Or was it just you wiped that clean slate?
02:00Yeah, the hardest thing to be playing in my mind since the chance went talking about it with my boys.
02:04But again, as a striker, you can't dwell on chances that go. You just have to worry about the next one and then the next one.
02:10And obviously I had to wipe my brain clean today to go into the game with a fresh mind.
02:15And luckily today I put the two chances away.
02:18Yeah, and we've obviously got the benefit, you know, up in the press box and everything, of being able to check the other scores from the other games.
02:25Obviously, I'm sure it's a lot more difficult as a player because you can't just whack out your phone and check the scores.
02:29How quickly after the game did you learn that everyone around us had lost?
02:32And also how important is it to not get sort of too carried away knowing that we've got, as you say, two cup finals to go?
02:37To be fair, when the Fools or when Gaf had done his team talk at the end of the game, he told us,
02:42but like you said, when we're in the game, we don't know. And that's out of our control.
02:46We can't worry about that. We just have to worry about what we do on the pitch and come away with the three points, which we did.
02:51And luckily the results went our way today. So again, like you said, two cup finals coming up.
02:55So we will give a hold in them two games.
02:58As well as your two goals, obviously you set up Pan's goal. How satisfying was that move that the passes went perfectly for?
03:06To be fair, I wanted it for myself, man.
03:10Yeah, I'm a striker, I'm greedy, but Pan was open and I just thought last second, slide him in.
03:16Didn't know if he was going to finish it or not, but he put you right in the top corner.
03:19So thanks to him, he got me and assisted it.
03:22Yeah, and we saw Gaf Holliang come back in today, Max Anderson come in today.
03:28How good is this squad? Because you've seen players come in like that and it's like they've been regulars, haven't they?
03:34Gaf Holliang was brilliant today and I thought Max was brilliant today.
03:37They'll probably be disappointed not getting the game time that they probably hoped for.
03:43Max was playing a lot at the start of the season and kind of dropped off a little bit.
03:46He hasn't been playing, but I thought both of them were brilliant when they came in today.
03:50Like I said, two cup finals, we're going to need everybody and our squad depth is very good.
03:56When players come out, other players can fill in and they're just as good as the starters that do start on the ball.
04:02Both of them were brilliant today.
04:07And you seem to have a little bit of a new lease of life since Scott came back.
04:13Has it been a frustrating season with the managerial changes and sometimes you were playing out on the left?
04:18Has it been a frustrating season?
04:20Yeah, a little bit, but I had Scott when I was at Swindon and I think he knows how to get the best out of me.
04:29So I'm glad he's back.
04:32Excellent.
04:33And obviously you've got to believe that with performances like Friday and today, you feel that you can pull this off?
04:41No, 100%.
04:42We've seen stranger things happen in football.
04:44We're never down and out.
04:46So like I said, if we can just go out and give our all in these last two games and show everybody how good we can be,
04:52you never know.
04:53The world's our oyster at this point.
