00:00:00The photo album's like a chapter of a book I must have read
00:00:17Once upon and ever after, my imaginations fade
00:00:26I wanna burn it till it's ashes, and to keep it in a vault
00:00:35Insisting when the morning passes, I'll forget if I'm at fault
00:00:47But I won't look inside that book until its pages dry
00:00:58Until the gamble that I took is further from my mind
00:01:07And doesn't make me cry
00:01:12I'm moving on, I'm moving fast
00:01:15I'm praying disappointment doesn't follow
00:01:18I wanna leave it in the past, along with yesterday's tomorrow
00:01:26I learned my lesson, learned it well
00:01:33I'm not about to live on time, I borrowed
00:01:37That girl who did can go to hell, along with yesterday's tomorrows
00:01:46The friends we used to know together
00:01:51Don't believe me when I say
00:01:56This was worse and made it better
00:02:01When we went our separate ways
00:02:06They figured by heart knows I'm haunted
00:02:10And I'm always gonna be
00:02:14Because the promise that I wanted
00:02:19Wasn't one that I could keep
00:02:26But I won't let them in my head
00:02:33Before my head is clear
00:02:37Before the shadow in my bed
00:02:42Completely disappears
00:02:45Like it was never here
00:02:51I'm moving on, I'm moving fast
00:02:55I'm praying disappointment doesn't follow
00:02:58I wanna leave it in the past, along with yesterday's tomorrows
00:03:08I learned my lesson, learned it well
00:03:13I'm not about to live on time, I borrowed
00:03:16That girl who did can go to hell, along with yesterday's tomorrows
00:03:26With this ring to thee I'm changed
00:03:32Or so it seemed to me
00:03:36Now although love remains
00:03:41My heart's completely free
00:03:45I hope I wanna be
00:03:49Carmen?
00:03:56There you are
00:04:15What's with that shaky brinefield?
00:04:21Thank you
00:04:27Pleasure
00:04:28You're looking gorgeous
00:04:33Well you look pretty duffer yourself
00:04:37Oh thanks
00:04:38Thanks
00:04:39Oh thanks
00:04:41Thank you
00:05:15Honey, are you okay today?
00:05:33Bored, I think.
00:05:43What is it?
00:05:45Maybe I should paint.
00:05:49Now you're talking.
00:05:51I mean, it has been a while.
00:05:58It's a great idea.
00:05:59I mean, if not only for your benefit, but if you win another reward then we can always
00:06:03use the cash, right?
00:06:04Kidding.
00:06:05Well, you're doing alright with all your bloody castings and what not.
00:06:17True.
00:06:18You know when I was younger, when I was first starting out as an artist?
00:06:25Sorry.
00:06:26Yes, darling?
00:06:27I said when I was younger, whatever I used to paint would come true.
00:06:39What do you mean?
00:06:40I mean, if I sat and concentrated hard enough and then put paint to canvas, whatever I used
00:06:52to paint would eventually come true.
00:06:54What, like a seer or something where you actually painted future events?
00:07:01Something like that.
00:07:03So hang on a second.
00:07:05Let me get this straight.
00:07:06You sat down.
00:07:07You painted.
00:07:08I would blindfold myself.
00:07:13For real?
00:07:15Yes.
00:07:16I would sit blindfolded and whatever I'd paint would eventually come true.
00:07:22Honey, that's crazy.
00:07:23Have you kept some of these pictures?
00:07:25Perhaps I'll have to check.
00:07:29I didn't know that about you.
00:07:32Something I don't share often.
00:07:37Well, come on, let's get you painting.
00:07:40I want to see if you've still got some of these skills.
00:07:43Tell you what, you go and get the art stuff ready.
00:07:47I'll go and try and find a blindfold.
00:08:07You hang on.
00:08:08Okay.
00:08:09Two more.
00:08:13Unfortunately, if you've kept working with me, myaby wouldn't trust them.
00:08:16The floating star can stand my neck.
00:08:17If you're just a little storyteller, so you'll see my hands on the painting.
00:08:19Let's go.
00:08:49Honey, do you know where I put the blank canvas?
00:08:58What?
00:09:01Hang on.
00:09:09Ah, gotcha.
00:09:14Oh, I just found it.
00:09:18What?
00:09:23Where did you find that?
00:09:25I found it in one of your drawers.
00:09:27I think it's from one of your old nightgowns.
00:09:29Okay, I'm ready.
00:09:42So I just blindfold you, right?
00:09:44Yep.
00:09:46Yep.
00:09:47And then what?
00:09:49Then we just wait and see.
00:09:51What do I do after that?
00:09:54Just make sure I don't get any on the floor.
00:09:57Okay, baby.
00:09:58I'm ready.
00:10:02Okay, baby.
00:10:03I'm ready.
00:10:07No, I'm ready.
00:10:16So much, Nea?
00:10:51Feeling better now, honey?
00:11:01Yes, I feel much better.
00:11:07You were at it.
00:11:09That's exactly what I needed.
00:11:15My beautiful artist.
00:11:21So, do you know who's face it is then?
00:11:35I'm not really concentrating on that right now.
00:11:37I'm not.
00:12:07So let's get started.
00:12:11The finish of the road.
00:12:16I was going to start with the perquè.
00:12:22I was going to try to move through the road to get started.
00:12:28First off, I went into the road.
00:12:32I was going to get started with the roadway.
00:12:35To be continued...
00:13:05Yeah, I like that.
00:13:19Yep.
00:13:20Let's go with that.
00:13:21Give me more attitude.
00:13:22Even more than that.
00:13:23That's it.
00:13:24That's what I'm after.
00:13:25Nice.
00:13:26Hold that.
00:13:27Okay, great.
00:13:28Nice.
00:13:29Let's try something else.
00:13:30Lovely.
00:13:31Lift it there.
00:13:32You read my mind.
00:13:33Take a break.
00:13:34Come back in 10.
00:13:35Good work.
00:13:55Ricky!
00:13:56What's going on, man?
00:13:57How are you, bud?
00:13:58No, man.
00:13:59Of course I'm not neglecting you.
00:14:00I'm just busy as hell.
00:14:01You know how it is.
00:14:02Yeah, right.
00:14:03Appreciate it converted.
00:14:04It's all good.
00:14:05But hey, listen.
00:14:06When are we catching up?
00:14:07Yeah, tell me about it.
00:14:08Yeah, I miss you too, bud.
00:14:09Yeah, I'm just at the office now.
00:14:10Going into a meeting.
00:14:11Alright, man.
00:14:12Just give me a buzz if we've got some free time.
00:14:13Okay, man.
00:14:14A bit of bail.
00:14:15I'm here.
00:14:16Talk soon, though.
00:14:17Alright, I'll hold you to that.
00:14:18Thanks for that last recommendation, too.
00:14:19They paid well.
00:14:20Yeah, well, there'll be plenty more where that came from.
00:14:21Don't you worry.
00:14:22Alright, I'll catch you soon.
00:14:23Alright, I'll catch you soon.
00:14:53I'll catch you soon.
00:15:23Hi.
00:15:24How are you?
00:15:25Good.
00:15:26How are you?
00:15:27Good to see you.
00:15:28You too.
00:15:29Come in.
00:15:53Coming.
00:16:02You look great.
00:16:03Really?
00:16:04I'm not feeling it today.
00:16:06Darling, you've been booked more than any of my other girls this month.
00:16:09Trust me, you're killing it.
00:16:18Oh my god.
00:16:19Hi.
00:16:20Stephanie.
00:16:21Yup.
00:16:22It's been forever.
00:16:24What are you doing here?
00:16:25I mean, how did you find me?
00:16:27Well, I did a bit of digging.
00:16:29It wasn't easy to find you.
00:16:30You've been famous and everything now, Mrs McKenna.
00:16:33Stop it.
00:16:34I mean, seriously.
00:16:35How did you find me?
00:16:36I have my ways.
00:16:38Where's my manners?
00:16:41Come in.
00:16:42Come in.
00:16:43Are you sure?
00:16:44I'm not disturbing you, am I?
00:16:46No, of course not.
00:16:47It's been ages.
00:16:49I'd love to catch up with you.
00:16:50Actually, I could deal with the company right about now.
00:16:57So, Jules?
00:17:00Yes, Ruby?
00:17:01What are you doing after work?
00:17:03Um...
00:17:06So tell me, how did you really find me?
00:17:21What brings you to this part of town?
00:17:23You moved interstate a while ago, didn't you?
00:17:26Wow.
00:17:27You have a really beautiful place.
00:17:30Thank you, hun.
00:17:35Is this it?
00:17:36Ah, yep.
00:17:37It's my latest piece.
00:17:39So this is the Tree of Life.
00:17:44Tell me, what have you heard about this piece?
00:17:46Just what I've seen in the knees.
00:17:53It's beautiful.
00:17:56Aw, thank you.
00:18:02I can't believe it's been so long.
00:18:03I know, right?
00:18:04No, seriously, I've really missed you.
00:18:07I've missed you too.
00:18:08I've missed you too.
00:18:10Look, place your bag wherever you like.
00:18:12Let me fix you a drink.
00:18:14And you can tell me what's been really happening.
00:18:21Thank you, Julian.
00:18:22You are the best agent.
00:18:24You've been so helpful today.
00:18:26You're too kind.
00:18:28But honestly, look, everything is under control.
00:18:30You don't have to worry about a thing.
00:18:32I owe you.
00:18:33A lot.
00:18:35You don't owe me anything.
00:18:36You just keep up the good work.
00:18:37Okay?
00:18:53Wow, amazing pool.
00:18:55Fancy a dip, babe?
00:18:57Oh, no, no, no.
00:18:58I'm no good around water.
00:19:03Oh, okay.
00:19:20Oh, wow!
00:19:22I love this room.
00:19:24Yeah, this is a study that Julian and I share.
00:19:29Your paints.
00:19:33Yeah, sometimes I paint here or in the studio.
00:19:36Whatever inspires me.
00:19:38It's under there.
00:19:39It's another masterpiece.
00:19:41Come on, show me.
00:19:43Come on, give me a sneak peek.
00:19:46Uh, no, no, no.
00:19:48It's another time.
00:19:49It's a work in progress.
00:19:50That's cool.
00:19:51I mean, it's your work, right?
00:19:53You're the artist.
00:19:54It's your place.
00:19:56Yeah, something like that.
00:19:58What else have you got?
00:19:59Come this way.
00:20:08And animals.
00:20:09I mean, yeah, humans are okay.
00:20:10They're great.
00:20:11Some humans, but there's like the 10% of humans that are fantastic.
00:20:16True.
00:20:17And then there's everyone else.
00:20:18It's a thing.
00:20:33Do be accountable.
00:20:34We're accountable.
00:20:36So, who do we have here?
00:20:37This is Stephanie, one of my oldest friends from school.
00:20:40Mwah.
00:20:41Nice to meet you.
00:20:42Stephanie.
00:20:43Pleasure to meet you.
00:20:45Stephanie, Stephanie.
00:20:47Honey, have you mentioned Stephanie to me before?
00:20:49We went to high school together.
00:20:51And then she moved to the country.
00:20:53Oh, you guys used to pretend to be sisters.
00:20:55Yeah.
00:20:57Oh my god, what a good memory, honey.
00:20:58So, forgive me, but I didn't know you were popping over.
00:21:02Steph's visiting relatives in the area.
00:21:04She decided to pop in.
00:21:06Okay, cool.
00:21:07So, what's the plan?
00:21:08Are you staying in town long, or?
00:21:10I'm not sure yet.
00:21:11I was visiting my uncle.
00:21:12He's been a bit six.
00:21:14Oh, sorry to hear that.
00:21:16It's alright.
00:21:17But yeah, I thought it was a great opportunity to come and see gorgeous Carmen.
00:21:21It's been a long, long time.
00:21:25Well, I'm sure you guys have got heaps to catch up on.
00:21:27Yeah.
00:21:29Uh, what say we all go out?
00:21:31Great idea.
00:21:32Yeah.
00:21:33Yeah.
00:21:34Okay.
00:21:35Meet you in, say, half an hour?
00:21:37Done.
00:21:41What a babe.
00:21:42You've done well.
00:21:43Jump it!
00:21:44So, she's a bit of a cutie.
00:21:59It's unreal.
00:22:00She's just come out of nowhere.
00:22:03When did she arrive?
00:22:04Like, hours ago.
00:22:05We've been chatting non-stop.
00:22:08So, is she cool?
00:22:10She's awesome.
00:22:11It's been ages since we've seen each other.
00:22:14It's good though.
00:22:15Just totally unexpected.
00:22:16Hmm.
00:22:17Well, you know, I'm happy for you to see your friends.
00:22:19Thanks for the dinner idea.
00:22:20Least I can do.
00:22:21Well, I've asked her to stay a couple of days.
00:22:22A couple of days?
00:22:23Is that okay?
00:22:24Yeah, I guess so, if that's what you want.
00:22:25Well, I just want to help her.
00:22:26Her family sounds like a nightmare.
00:22:27Honey, all families are a nightmare.
00:22:28And don't forget we've got our own issues as well.
00:22:30Think of it as your good deed for the day.
00:22:45More like good deed for the week.
00:22:49Think of it as your good deed for the day.
00:22:54More like good deed for the week.
00:23:19Think of it as your good deed for the day.
00:23:39Think of it as your good deed for the day.
00:23:47Think of it as your good deed for the day.
00:23:57Think of it as your good deed for the day.
00:24:06Think of it as your good deed for the day.
00:24:12I'll get the room ready.
00:24:22Do you need any help?
00:24:24No, I should be okay.
00:24:26Hey, thanks for lunch.
00:24:28Not a problem.
00:24:30I mean, thank you for lunch and for letting me stay.
00:24:34Too easy.
00:24:35I've been having the worst time lately and spending time with Carmen is exactly what I need right now.
00:24:42I'm just happy to help.
00:24:44You're so sweet.
00:24:45Come here.
00:24:46Let's go.
00:24:56I don't know.
00:25:26Oh, my God.
00:25:56That's good, honey.
00:26:26Oh, yeah.
00:26:28Oh, oh, oh.
00:26:56Oh, oh, oh, oh.
00:27:03Oh, oh, oh.
00:27:08Oh, oh, oh.
00:27:16You okay, honey?
00:27:31Yeah, I'm okay.
00:27:33Sure?
00:27:34Did you sleep rough?
00:27:35Yeah, I had a really bad night.
00:27:37I had a horrible nightmare.
00:27:40That's no good.
00:27:41But then again, you know what they say about nightmares.
00:27:44It's the opposite of your daytime, so think of it as a good thing.
00:27:47Maybe.
00:27:48Well, today I'm going to be taking Stephanie out of Australia.
00:27:52Oh, cool.
00:27:53Yeah, that's an awesome idea.
00:27:55Yeah, I love it.
00:27:56Are you going to go up to the farm?
00:27:57Yeah, we are actually.
00:27:59Okay, cool.
00:28:01How about you?
00:28:02What are you going to do?
00:28:04Um, I think I might look at one of the new films I cast, see if it turned out any good.
00:28:09So.
00:28:10Perfect.
00:28:11Well, we all know how much you don't like my kind of movies, right?
00:28:16Something like that.
00:28:19Thanks.
00:28:20Thanks.
00:28:21Thanks.
00:28:49There you are.
00:29:16Cornered, with nowhere else to go it would seem.
00:29:29Clearly you must judge my skill.
00:29:33You can run, but you can't hide.
00:29:36You're no match for me, General.
00:29:39Let's see if I'm back.
00:29:46Meow.
00:30:09So we've also walked off.
00:30:16Go to www.goovie.com
00:31:11Oh dear.
00:31:23Rick.
00:31:37No, it's good timing actually, Matt.
00:31:41No, I think I need to get out of the house.
00:31:43I'm getting cabin fever.
00:31:45What say I beat yours in like 15?
00:31:49Okay, cool. Done.
00:31:51Let's go away.
00:31:53There's no need.
00:31:55I'm getting cabin fever.
00:31:57I'm getting cabin fever.
00:31:59I'm getting cabin fever.
00:32:01I'm getting cabin fever.
00:32:03Okay, cool.
00:32:05Well, I'll show you a little bit.
00:32:07Good morning.
00:32:09I hope you enjoyed it.
00:32:41Good to see you, Jules.
00:32:46Good to be here, man. How's business treating you?
00:32:49Good, yeah. Can't complain. Thanks to the referrals, by the way.
00:32:53Pleasure. Look, you take good shots. It works both ways.
00:32:57So, you're working on your new exciting projects? You must be spending plates as per usual.
00:33:03You know me. Always on the go. I don't know. Maybe one day I'll stop.
00:33:08You? Never.
00:33:09And how's that beautiful partner of yours?
00:33:13Carmen. Yeah, she's a dream.
00:33:16I could say that again. You're a very lucky man, I tell you.
00:33:19Well, I've had the rest. Time to settle with the best. You're out of control.
00:33:26So, what's been happening?
00:33:27One of Carmen's old girlfriends has come to stay with us.
00:33:30Oh, yeah. Another stunner.
00:33:31I can see why they're friends. Both unique in their own kind of way.
00:33:36Blonde. Brunette.
00:33:38This one's blonde.
00:33:43Hey, look. I would have hooked you up on a double date if you weren't already taken.
00:33:47It's all good, man. Just teasing.
00:33:48So, there's... What's her name?
00:33:53Ah, Stephanie.
00:33:54Stephanie.
00:33:56Stephanie Mitchell.
00:33:59Stephanie Mitchell.
00:34:01Mitchell.
00:34:03What does she do?
00:34:06Actually, do you know what? I don't actually know.
00:34:08Um, I'll have to ask her.
00:34:12Stephanie Mitchell. Why does that name sound familiar?
00:34:16Does it?
00:34:34That was so much fun.
00:34:37It wasn't it.
00:34:38I seriously can't remember the last time I went riding.
00:34:41You know, I don't think men quite appreciate horse riding the way us women do.
00:34:48You're right. I know what you mean.
00:34:50Yeah.
00:34:53Oh, that reminds me.
00:34:55Actually, I've got an interview tomorrow.
00:34:58For Tree of Life?
00:35:00Yeah.
00:35:02Actually, I've got something to show you.
00:35:04Really? You want?
00:35:05Yeah. Hold on. I'll go grab it.
00:35:06Okay.
00:35:08Ta-da!
00:35:30Oh, my God.
00:35:36Wow.
00:35:45Hang on.
00:35:45And why did you keep this one?
00:35:49You don't remember?
00:35:53No, no. I mean, I'm flattered you kept it, but why did you keep this one?
00:35:59It was from that time we stayed over at my place. You did that awesome blindfold thing?
00:36:03I did?
00:36:04Yeah. I asked her to paint my future, and you put on the blindfold, and you're him.
00:36:10Well, apparently this is my soul mate. I haven't met him yet, but I'm sure he'll stand up soon enough.
00:36:18Let's do a makeover.
00:36:26What?
00:36:27Come on. Let me do your makeup. I've been dying to do your makeup since you walked in through the door.
00:36:32to do your makeup since you walked in through the door.
00:36:35Such beautiful features, honey.
00:36:37Really?
00:36:40I mean, yeah.
00:36:42Yeah, let's do it.
00:36:44I'll go put this back.
00:36:45I'll meet you in the bathroom.
00:37:02I'll meet you in the bathroom.
00:37:20I'll meet you in the bathroom.
00:37:30I'll meet you in the bathroom.
00:37:46When I look after you'reá»™n,
00:37:57Oh, wow.
00:38:11Shit, it's okay, huh?
00:38:13Just kidding.
00:38:19There are entirely too many hot women in this house right now.
00:38:23Meaning what exactly?
00:38:25You didn't hear the door?
00:38:26No.
00:38:27Um, Kelly's here.
00:38:28Kelly!
00:38:29I don't know if I have to meet Kelly.
00:38:35So, who's Kelly?
00:38:36One of our other work friends.
00:38:40You look awesome.
00:38:41Thanks.
00:38:43Carmen knows her stuff.
00:38:45I mean, that's part of it, but you have to have a good face to start with, right?
00:38:49Yeah.
00:38:56So, what are you doing now?
00:39:00Um, I think I'm going to have to lie down.
00:39:03Come on.
00:39:06I need the power now.
00:39:07So, what gives us the honour of your visit?
00:39:08Well, I've seen enough of the tree of life, so I thought it was time to see my friend of
00:39:14life.
00:39:15Well, I'm so glad you've stopped by.
00:39:16Actually, I was just recently thinking to call you.
00:39:18Thinking of me.
00:39:19Hmm.
00:39:20Dreaming of me.
00:39:22Oh, yes, I just can't stop thinking about you.
00:39:24Hello.
00:39:25Hello.
00:39:26How can I be?
00:39:27Hello.
00:39:28Oh, yes, I can't stop thinking about you.
00:39:32Oh, I'm like, what's the matter of life that you're all about?
00:39:33So, I thought it was time to see my friend of life.
00:39:34And I thought it was time to see my friend of life.
00:39:36Well, I'm so glad you've stopped by.
00:39:38Actually, I was just recently thinking to call you.
00:39:39Thinking of me?
00:39:40Dreaming of me.
00:39:41Ah, yes, I just can't stop thinking about you.
00:39:50Hello?
00:39:51Oh, Carol, this is Steph.
00:39:57Hey Steph.
00:39:59Steph's been staying with us.
00:40:04She's from the country.
00:40:07Oh, okay.
00:40:10So, where's Julian gone?
00:40:13Yeah, where is Julian?
00:40:15That little stud muffin.
00:40:18He's taking a nap.
00:40:23Okay then.
00:40:25Well, let's not make any noise.
00:40:28Kel, just grab your cup and let's take a seat by the pool outside here.
00:40:33Great idea.
00:40:36You can join us too if you like, Steph.
00:40:48So, what's been happening?
00:41:00Oh my god.
00:41:01Like, what hasn't been happening?
00:41:03Seriously.
00:41:04Okay, so...
00:41:05Hang on a minute.
00:41:07Are you okay?
00:41:18I'm hungry.
00:41:24Okay, well, I'm not hungry at the moment.
00:41:28But feel free to take some fruit from the table inside.
00:41:33Sweetie.
00:41:48What's her problem?
00:41:58That doesn't help me out?
00:41:59Huh?
00:42:00What's myì–´ìš”?
00:42:01Love you too?
00:42:03I've never heard of that thing.
00:42:05Not a few times of the loft.
00:42:06Can't wait.
00:42:07Oh, we don't walk away.
00:42:08Don't walk away.
00:42:09Why don't walk away.
00:42:10I need you outside the window?
00:42:11I need them.
00:42:12Yeah, I need you.
00:42:13I need you, I need you.
00:42:15I need you.
00:42:16To breathe socks out.
00:42:17I need you.
00:42:18To choose your Shinji lies.
00:43:19Today we welcome Carmen McKenna, an artist from Australia.
00:43:42Could you please introduce yourself and tell us your story?
00:43:45Hi, thank you for having me. I'm a passionate artist. My cultural background is of British
00:43:53and Slavic eccentricity coming from my parents, but I am a true Australian in that I love finding
00:44:00absurdity in everyday life. I also have a sensual and spiritual approach to everyday life and
00:44:08and my outlook is very much like that. So tell us, how did you fall into your style?
00:44:14Something surrealist or perhaps a little weird. How do you feel about that?
00:44:18Hmm. I fell into my style primarily through my imagination. I'd start out just painting
00:44:28randomly onto a canvas, whether it's just brushstrokes of whichever colour that inspires me.
00:44:36However, through that painting, I would sometimes find an object, which to me would look like something.
00:44:46And then that would spur me onto painting something within that canvas or on that canvas.
00:44:54So I can't predict how my artwork would come out. It's surreal in the way that sometimes, you know,
00:45:05you wouldn't expect to see that object onto that canvas. So, and often it will symbolise something else.
00:45:11So it is surreal in that sense. And if that makes me weird, then I'm happy to take that because I would hate to be ordinary and predictable.
00:45:20So how did your parents feel when you told them you were going to be an artist for a living?
00:45:26Naturally, they were wary. As we all know, artists aren't, um, well, their future isn't predictable, again, that word.
00:45:38So, but however, they knew that I was my most happiest when I'm creating.
00:45:44Um, and plus it helped that I did achieve some awards.
00:45:50Great. And what about your tools of the trade, so to speak? And do you have a preferred medium?
00:45:56Okay, my tools of the trade are, you know, typical acrylic brush.
00:46:02Um, also, look, it depends on what inspires me at the moment and what my mood is drawn to.
00:46:10Often though, I will just use what's around me. It depends on the effect as well that I'm trying to achieve.
00:46:16Sometimes I might use a tissue, but look, I always, um, put a hundred percent of myself into the artwork.
00:46:25Could you describe for us your typical start to finish workflow when working on a new piece of artwork?
00:46:31Sure. So depending on who the artwork is for, if it's for a client, then I will sketch as much as I can onto a canvas.
00:46:40And then I will, just to provide some structure, and then I will apply paint, um, to achieve the idea that we've agreed on.
00:46:51However, if it's for myself, well, then I'm more relaxed and I'm more spontaneous.
00:46:58I don't need to sketch as much as I, as I, well, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
00:47:03So it really depends. But, um, yeah, I'm more liberal and spontaneous.
00:47:06Lovely. And lastly, have any famous artists influenced you? If so, who and how?
00:47:13No artists have influenced me because my artwork, I consider, is quite organic.
00:47:23I can't really even describe my artwork, as you can see. It is surreal. However, um, so I haven't really been influenced by anyone.
00:47:32However, I, I do admire, uh, Salvador Dali for, um, for being the iconic, surreal, surrealistic painter that he is.
00:47:44I love Matisse for his bold style. I love Renoir for his romance and his, um, fluid brushstrokes.
00:47:54And I love Ken Dunn because he's that iconic Australian artist who's, who's great with colour.
00:48:01Yeah. Great. Thank you so much for your time today, Miss McKenna.
00:48:06It's been a true honour to speak with you and we look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
00:48:11It's my pleasure.
00:48:13Well, you heard it first, folks. Carmen McKenna and her award-winning Tree of Life.
00:48:31Oh, shit baby, I haven't done that for ages.
00:48:53I haven't done that for ages.
00:48:57Oh, it's good.
00:49:05Oh, yeah, it's good. Keep going.
00:49:10Oh, yeah, keep going.
00:49:13Oh, I think I'm gonna come.
00:49:16I think I'm gonna come.
00:49:21Ah, ah, yeah.
00:49:23Ah.
00:49:25Whew.
00:49:26Oh, God.
00:49:44What the hell?
00:49:45Morning.
00:50:09Morning.
00:50:15Morning.
00:50:17Morning.
00:50:18Morning.
00:50:28Morning.
00:50:37Morning.
00:50:39Honey, I'm home.
00:50:51What's going on here?
00:51:03Hey, stop!
00:51:09You okay, hun?
00:51:26No, I'm not actually.
00:51:29Another nightmare?
00:51:32Yep.
00:51:35Stephanie has to leave.
00:51:39It's time.
00:51:43Good idea.
00:51:45Is that my dress you've gone on?
00:51:55Maybe.
00:51:56What's the big deal?
00:51:57We've been sharing everything, right?
00:51:59Not everything.
00:52:01Okay.
00:52:02Sorry.
00:52:03Sorry.
00:52:04Sorry.
00:52:05Sorry.
00:52:06What's the big deal?
00:52:07What's the big deal?
00:52:08We've been sharing everything, right?
00:52:09Not everything.
00:52:10Okay.
00:52:11Sorry.
00:52:12What's the big deal?
00:52:13What's the big deal?
00:52:15We've been sharing everything, right?
00:52:17Not everything.
00:52:18Okay.
00:52:19Sorry.
00:52:20Okay.
00:52:21Sorry.
00:52:22Look.
00:52:23It's been great having you here, darling.
00:52:28Don't get me wrong.
00:52:29You're kicking me out.
00:52:30I'm not exactly kicking you out.
00:52:31I said you could stay a night or two, which has turned into a lot longer than that.
00:52:44I'm married.
00:52:45I have needs too.
00:52:46I need to connect with my husband.
00:52:47Things are getting really intense.
00:52:48What are you, mate?
00:52:49What the hell's going on over there?
00:52:50It's this Stephanie chick, man.
00:52:51She's all over me.
00:52:52She's all over me.
00:52:53She's all over me.
00:52:54She's all over me.
00:52:55She's all over me.
00:52:56She's all over me.
00:52:57She's all over me.
00:52:58She's all over me.
00:52:59I mean, look, she's really hot, but look, man, I'm getting myself into some hot water.
00:53:22Jesus Christ, that's what your life's worth writing about.
00:53:27Dude, it's not like that.
00:53:30This is turning into a real fucking nightmare.
00:53:33Don't get me wrong.
00:53:36I've loved having you here.
00:53:39It's just I need some personal space now.
00:53:42When am I going to see you guys again?
00:53:44Honey, I've got your phone number.
00:53:46I can call you anytime.
00:53:51Okay.
00:53:54Okay, I'll tell you what.
00:53:56Julie and I are going to go out for a bit.
00:53:58Where are you going?
00:53:59Just some couple stuff.
00:54:03We'll give you enough time to pack up.
00:54:06Get yourself ready.
00:54:08You can go at your own pace.
00:54:11Yeah.
00:54:13That's cool.
00:54:16You go have fun.
00:54:20I can see myself out.
00:54:22Is a couple of hours enough for you?
00:54:24It's fine.
00:54:35Thank you so much.
00:54:37It's okay.
00:54:39It's okay.
00:54:40No, I mean it.
00:54:41If it wasn't for you, I just...
00:54:44I don't know what I'd do.
00:54:50I'm going to have a shower and get ready.
00:54:53Get yourself sorted.
00:54:55And let yourself out then.
00:55:12Julian, I said take your tools out of the kitchen.
00:55:16The rain comes down.
00:55:34The rain comes down.
00:55:37And I fear that I won't see you again.
00:55:49The rain comes down.
00:55:53The rain comes down.
00:55:56And I fear that I won't see you again.
00:56:06And I fear that I won't see you again.
00:56:17You left me long ago, and you didn't say goodbye.
00:56:26Not looking back to hear my cry.
00:56:36Falling, falling, falling, the tears they found.
00:56:44And if they'd ever stop.
00:56:47And if they'd ever stop.
00:56:48No way to town.
00:56:56The rain comes down.
00:57:00The rain comes down.
00:57:03And I fear that I won't see you again.
00:57:10The sky is cloudy and I haven't seen much light.
00:57:24Not a glimpse of hope inside.
00:57:29Did you ever love me?
00:57:30Did you ever love me?
00:57:36And really feel the same?
00:57:42Or was I just another passing game?
00:57:48The rain comes down.
00:57:49The rain comes down.
00:57:50The rain comes down.
00:57:51And I fear that I won't see you again.
00:57:55The rain comes down.
00:58:00And I fear that I won't see you again.
00:58:05The night is falling.
00:58:06The night is falling.
00:58:15And I see a brilliant star.
00:58:20Shining in the sky above.
00:58:24The sky above
00:58:28Wishing that you'd someday
00:58:35Come back to me
00:58:40And in my arms
00:58:44You'd always stay
00:58:48The rain comes down
00:58:55The rain comes down
00:59:00And I fear
00:59:02That I won't see you again
00:59:07The rain comes down
00:59:14The rain comes down
00:59:19And I fear
00:59:21That I won't see you again
00:59:26And I fear
00:59:31That I won't see you again
00:59:38The thought of death used to scare me
00:59:58I'd lay awake in bed for hours
01:00:01Just thinking about the pointlessness of it all
01:00:04And my chest would start tightening up
01:00:08And I'd start jumping from one thought to the next
01:00:11And suddenly I felt like my head was going to explode
01:00:13When you used to lie awake at night
01:00:16Thinking about how pointless life is
01:00:18Your chest would tighten up
01:00:21You felt you couldn't breathe
01:00:23And death scared you
01:00:24Does the idea of death still frighten you?
01:00:28I actually find it rather calming
01:00:30Now you find it calming
01:00:32Do you find it all thinking about death a lot?
01:00:37I mean, we all think about it, right?
01:00:40I'm sure at one point or another
01:00:41Everyone's had the fantasy
01:00:43Fantasy?
01:00:45Fantasy
01:00:46How would it affect the world if I ended it all?
01:00:52You build up
01:00:53This idea in your head
01:00:55That it would touch the lives of everyone you've ever known
01:00:58Those who have done the wrong thing by you
01:01:01Would blame themselves
01:01:03The people who love you would avenge you
01:01:05That's what you imagine
01:01:08You certainly could tell people
01:01:10How you feel about them now while you're alive
01:01:12I don't like confrontation
01:01:16Do you believe in God?
01:01:24I hear you say you don't believe in confrontation
01:01:26And then you confront me with a question about God
01:01:28We always talk about me
01:01:31Yes, but isn't that what we're here for, Stephanie?
01:01:35We both know why I'm here
01:01:36I mean, don't get me wrong
01:01:38I really do cherish the time we spend together
01:01:41But let's not delude ourselves into thinking I had a choice in the matter
01:01:44You really cherish your time here
01:01:47Even though you had no choice
01:01:48You've started to open up a lot over the last couple of sessions
01:01:51I think we're really making some progress
01:01:54Wow
01:01:54I bet you say that to all the girls
01:01:56What ultimately are you wanting to achieve out of these sessions?
01:02:03You didn't answer my question
01:02:04Stephanie, this is your time
01:02:08We're here to talk about you
01:02:09Seriously?
01:02:12What? You can't give me one straight answer
01:02:15To the only question I've ever asked you
01:02:16I'm wondering whether you
01:02:19Ask me about my beliefs
01:02:21Because religion is important to you somehow
01:02:24Fuck it
01:02:24Would it help you to know
01:02:27I believe it's really important to hold on to hope
01:02:30Hope?
01:02:33Sit down
01:02:33Sit down
01:02:34Seriously? Hope?
01:02:36Hope for what?
01:02:38That there's a second life better than this one?
01:02:40Or that life will eventually be less shit because it's all over
01:02:43Doesn't that kind of contradict the whole anti-suicide ideals of your profession?
01:02:47Would you like to sit down?
01:02:49Don't move
01:02:53No
01:02:55She's still here
01:03:10She's still here.
01:03:13What?
01:03:17I can't take this anymore.
01:03:21It's an invasion of privacy.
01:03:23But you did tell her to leave, right? Maybe she's still packing up her stuff.
01:03:27She knows this.
01:03:29She should have been gone by now.
01:03:31Look at the time.
01:03:33It's been hours.
01:03:35I told her to leave by the time we get back.
01:03:40God, you really don't like her being here anymore, do you?
01:03:43No, and I don't like the way she's been looking at you either.
01:03:54God, what now?
01:03:58It's Kelly.
01:04:00Hey Kel, what's up?
01:04:02Hey, how are you?
01:04:05Good, well, Julia and I just got home.
01:04:08Okay, look, I don't mean to keep you, but I just have to ask you something.
01:04:14Shoot, what is it?
01:04:16Well, it's kind of embarrassing.
01:04:18Um, I'm actually really uncomfortable telling you this, but um...
01:04:23It's okay, we're practically family.
01:04:26Just tell me, I can handle it.
01:04:28You know, when I came over the other day, I left my bag on the kitchen table and...
01:04:34Go on.
01:04:36Well, it's just that my purse has gone missing.
01:04:40What?
01:04:42Yeah, I know, it sounds awful and I would never accuse you guys of anything like that.
01:04:46It's just that I've checked everywhere and I still can't find it.
01:04:49The last place I took it was to your house and as soon as I got back to mine, I couldn't find it.
01:04:54Jesus, honey. No, it's okay. You have a right to ask. Let me have a proper look for you.
01:04:58Thanks, so sorry to stress you out.
01:05:01Ah, Jesus.
01:05:03No, no. Of course, of course. Let me see.
01:05:06And Carmen?
01:05:09Yes.
01:05:11You might want to check with that Stephanie girl, too, while you're at it.
01:05:17Roger that.
01:05:23That little bitch!
01:05:27Hey, it's Rick. I'm gonna take this.
01:05:29When it rains, it pours.
01:05:31But I'll be with you in a minute, I promise.
01:05:33That's okay. I'll deal with it myself.
01:05:36Ricky! What's going on, brother?
01:05:39Mate, you got a sec?
01:05:42Yeah, of course, man. For you. What's up?
01:05:44Remember when you were telling me about that Stephanie girl standing at her house and said the name sound familiar?
01:05:49Yeah, as a matter of fact, I do.
01:05:51Well, here's the thing. You said her name's Stephanie Mitchell, is that right?
01:05:54Yeah, man. That's right.
01:05:55Bingo. Dude, I photographed her. She's a model. Or at least she used to be.
01:05:59What?
01:06:00Yeah, true story. She went by another name, man. Stephanie Stevens.
01:06:04The reason I remember is because at the time I felt sorry for her.
01:06:07For real?
01:06:09Jesus, man. What happened?
01:06:11She had potential. Real potential.
01:06:13But she's going with the wrong crowd. If you can put the cars in cash, you know what I mean?
01:06:16I don't trust. Not another one.
01:06:17Last I heard, she moved back to the country where the towers went, Alex.
01:06:20You sound like our girl.
01:06:21If I had to bit, yeah. It does make sense to me.
01:06:24Yeah, well. As a matter, I had to tell you just in case.
01:06:26Thanks, man. I appreciate that. Good work, Sherlock, homie.
01:06:37Stephanie! Stephanie! You said you'd be cleared out by now!
01:06:42Come on, this is getting silly!
01:06:43Steph, can you hear me? Are you okay? Can you speak?
01:07:02So I know you wanted me to go. But...
01:07:06But what?
01:07:08I'm not sure your husband feels the same way.
01:07:13Julian! What's he got to do with this?
01:07:16Maybe you should ask him.
01:07:18What the hell does that mean?
01:07:20We don't hide any secrets.
01:07:26He's my man. Why don't you start looking for one of your own?
01:07:32Well, let me ask you this. Just between us girls.
01:07:36When's the last time you sucked his cock?
01:07:39You and him? No way!
01:07:43Get your bags and leave my house now.
01:07:50You and him?
01:07:53Witch, I've seen your secret smiles.
01:08:04Honey, are you okay?
01:08:06I've got to tell you what Rick just said on the phone.
01:08:11Hey, brother!
01:08:12Well, if I can't have him...
01:08:21He can't either.
01:08:24You crazy bitch!
01:08:36You have no idea who you're fucking with!
01:08:38I'll kick your ass from yesterday to tomorrow.
01:08:48Julian?
01:08:51Julian?
01:08:53Did she suck you all?
01:08:57Hey.
01:08:59She tricked me.
01:09:01I thought it was you.
01:09:03I'm sorry.
01:09:04It's a mistake.
01:09:09I'll be coming.
01:09:21Come on, bitch.
01:09:22Shut the fuck up.
01:09:23Hey, babe.
01:09:25Did I tell you I didn't cry?
01:09:27Winner by knockout, Stephanie Stevens!
01:09:29You're ready to cry here.
01:09:30You're ready to cry here, man?
01:09:31You're ready to cry?
01:09:32It's better.
01:09:33You really don't cry.
01:09:34You're ready to cry.
01:09:39Winner by knockout, Stephanie Stevens!
01:09:48Think I'm better.

01:09:56Callan, Ernie, get the crowbar, use it, knock her out.
01:10:17Show and tell time, family!
01:10:38What do we have here?
01:10:42It's a portrait of him.
01:10:47It kind of looks like me, doesn't it?
01:10:54And this...
01:10:58This is a picture of you, Julian.
01:11:01Carmen said you were my soulmate.
01:11:03Listen, mate.
01:11:05He's a big boy.
01:11:07He can handle himself.
01:11:09See, we were meant to be together.
01:11:12But then she stole you away from me.
01:11:15Don't listen to the joy.
01:11:22See, I came looking for you, Julian.
01:11:25I wanted you to represent me.
01:11:28But I got that other fucking prick instead.
01:11:33He did things...
01:11:38So I went home.
01:11:41Why?
01:11:43To look after my fucking retarded brother.
01:11:49She stole my fucking life, Julian.
01:11:52Come and took everything from me.

01:16:45No one can tell what secret lovers know so well.
